  • Comments: Start slow, finish fast - that was the plan. I felt pretty good during the first half of the run, I was running fairly comfortably, hills didn't really bother me too much until I crested Lovekin Drive in Kings Park, then that familiar pain across the chest appeared (same feeling I had during the Half Ironman run leg), at this point average was around 4:56 min/km but had to drop the pace to 5:30 for 1-2 km. Maybe I worked to hard on those hills. Anyway the pain subsided and I was able to get comfortable. I wanted to up the pace around Perry Lakes Drive for a fast finish but I started to cramp on both calves when I lost my footing off the road while passing. After feeling the cramps creeping up on several occassions I wanted to just keep it steady to the finishing line. I think I still got a negative split, it would have been very close. Beat my target of 1:45:00 and smashed my Half IM HM leg by 10 minutes (you would hope so!). Good day and result! http://connect.garmin.com/activity/1098
