  • Comments: Overall, I thought the race was a good one. Organized, nice volunteers... I was not able to hear the speech/directions before the swim, partly due to talking competitors and partly due to the speaker facing the water and the majority of the swimmers needing to stand behind him. I was disappointed with the post race food - I'd read about pancakes, maple syrup, and sausages, so that's what I was craving. Bagels and peanut butter just don't cut the mustard. Or syrup, as the case may be.

  • Comments: I wish we would have started a lot earlier. It was light out at 6a and the olympic didn't start until 7:30. There was a 2 hour break until we started at 9:30. We could have been wrapped up and finished by then if we would have stated at 7:30. Other than that a lot of fun. Really nice people there.

  • Comments: Yes this race report is from 2007. Apparently I never finished typing up my race report for this. I don't really remember all the details anymore but I figure I will finish it anyway.

  • Comments: This race was poorly organized and poorly scored. My points are all jumbled and they have me in the wrong age group. Even the picture people are loopy. I will not do this race again.

  • Comments: Trifreaks yet again rocks! I was smiling the whole way through this event. It just makes you feel so good and everyone else there is super friendly to you and the yells of "WAY TO GO" stay with you until you pass out at night.

  • Comments: The TriFreak people put on a great race--they had glitches here and there, but were always nice and calm. It was a super fun event, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The starts and finishes were marked really well and safety was good on the course. I won my Athena age group and also overall for the Athena division, which was a nice treat. They couldn't find the award, so it will come in the mail eventually. I was guessing that I would do the race in about 1:35 and did it in 1:20, so that was a great surprise and keeps me motivated for the next race! The online results have me as an AG, and for that I placed 9th in my 35-39 division, 43rd overall for women. Not too shabby for a first-timer!!

  • Comments: I really enjoy this race. This is the second year it has been put on and I think they did a really good job. My only complaint is that the t-shirt and finisher's metal are the same design as last year. I wish they would have at least done it in a different color. I am planning on doing this race again next year.

  • Comments: I really liked this race. There was a lot of comradery between the racers. Everyone seemed like they were having a good time. This was an Escape from Alcatraz qualifying race so I was surprised there weren't more people racing. This is the first year for this race and even though there were a few glitches, all in all it was a great race and I will do it again next year.
