  • Comments: There were a few missteps regarding the aquabike (what wave we were to go off in and what to do after we finished) and actually stating what time transition opened. I am a wee bit disappointed about not having my first test into the HIM distance not captured at the end.

  • Comments: Just as with last year we had a BT dinner the night before and it was a blast to meet people. It also made the race itself fun. This is my second HFP event this year and I haven't been as impressed as I was last year. There are plenty of volunteers and things are together in that way, but the websites aren't as helpful as they could be, the bike course isn't marked quite as well as it could be in a couple places, they don't get the information out as well as they could, and something else just doesn't feel quite as together as I was expecting after my experience last year. Still a great race though.

  • Comments: I think HFP must have sold this race or started a partnership with another race organizer, as everything was just a little "different" this year. A little less organized. The Aquabike is an awesome concept and I love it. However, they need to learn how to "handle" it better. After we got swallowed up into T2, we had to figure out how to give our chips back, and track down our own medals. We get no finish line photo, no announcement, and absolutely no fanfare at all. Aquabike is definitely an afterthought. :(
