  • Comments: This was a pretty humbling race from a results standpoint, but really, it is what I expected based on training. Honestly, the fact that I even went and looked at the results and recorded them is progress. Last year I didn't do that for any of my races because I didn't want to see them. :) This is a very fun race. Race organizers are cool, laid back, and funny. Lots of volunteers. Very casual atmosphere. I really like it. If it weren't for that *&^%$#$&% hill coming up from the lake to transition, it might be in the running for my favorite course. :)

  • Comments: Fun race - more for fun than super competitiveness. Challenging, but not impossible course.

  • Comments: Croixathlon is a lot of fun. The camp staff are helpful and enthusiastic. It is a great tri for beginners. I estimate at least 50% are beginner level, and many are first-timers.

  • Comments: This race went about a 1000 times better for me than Buffalo a few weeks back. First of all, I could actually move my neck, which was a huge plus. Second, I had a much better attitude in general so that helped too. I haven't done this race before, but I have done 27 (?) others at this point, and I have to say this was one of my very favorites. The course is very nice (except that walk from the beach up the hill ;) ), the shirts are nice, the atmosphere is laid back but not disorganized, and there is no extraneous goodie bag of stuff I'll never use anyway. Oh, and they only body marked one arm, and then the back of the calf. Love that! The both arms/both legs bodymarking is excessive, IMO. And no bike orhelmet stickers either! Despite the rough weather at the start and the hour delay, this was just a very pleasant race experience in general. I will definitely be back!

  • Comments: This tri is more geared for fun than serious competition. It takes place at a campgrounds and has lots of nice scenery and a uniqueness to it. As it is for the YMCA most of the money goes to them. For swag, you get a shirt and there are a few prizes for the winners. Fruit, drink, and chips consist of the after race food. It was well put together and run. There are certain aspects to it that probably keep it from being sanctioned as a USAT race, such as the beach path and maybe the dirt paths for running, but they are actually good for the race as they add an element of fun and a uniqueness to the experience.

  • Comments: First tri of the year. Definitely some rust to shake off, but other than the swim I feel pretty good about it. Very low key, fun event. Looked like about 1/3 of the field was participating in their first tri ever, which is great. This is geographically the closest race to me, I believe, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
