  • Comments: Well run event. Seemed like less participation than last year though. Improvement this year by changing the run course to allow for more opportunities for aid stations. Swim was again peculiar with shallow water but I don’t imagine there’s much they can do about that…it’s probably also partially done for safety considerations. Really great and enthusiastic volunteers this year – slapping high fives and saying motivating words. I was sure to thank as many as I could. Stayed at the beach to relax afterwards and the Mossman crew stayed and cheered for finishers at the 4 hour mark. My favorite finisher was Mr. Cook at 79 years old!! Saw him on the bike course while I was running looking strong in his Team USA Tri suit with his name on it. What an inspiration!!

  • Comments: The post race sucked this year, but that's all. The swim was idiosyncratic to the particular day of the month, can't ding the race for that. Last year was totally different. This is all part of the game. I''m THRILLED at knocking off more than 16 minutes off last year, that's the kind of year I've had, and it's incredibly rewarding. Lots of hard work paying off, and I feel great about it. I just want to keep pushing harder and harder and have more years like this one! I can't believe I started this crap only 2 1/2 years ago, it feels like I should have been doing this for years. So happy my family was there to be with me today at the end of the season, it was really quite joyous and I feel very blessed. See ya next year Mossies!

  • Comments: Hard to do things much better than Team Mossman does them in terms of venue choice, organization, and course support. It's not flashy, there's no post race hoopla, but that's what the TriRock and Rev3s are for if you want that sort of thing. This is pure and simple triathlon, the best kind.

  • Comments: Given how concerned I was going into this race about things like the jellyfish and how crowded the course would be, I was surprised as to how smoothly it actually went and how much fun I had. Nice long-sleeve tech t-shirt, and good post-race food. The loops also made for a very spectator-friendly race (I was able to see Jeff multiple times), and the crowd support was good. I will definitely do this race again next year.

  • Comments: Seeing CT has limited OLY distance races to choose from, I'll be bcak again. I like the organization, the venue and the course, even though it relies on looping to make the distance. It doesn't bother me like some knock the race for. Full results at http://www.triandduit.com/webforms/tad_ResultsDetail.aspx?rf=ParkCi...

  • Comments: I really enjoyed the race, the swag was fantastic, but a question mark remains in my mind about the bike course.

  • Comments: My first OLY and I think I did pretty well. The voluneteers were excellent. I rather liked the bike course as it was predictable (you know the course and what to do where) and closed to cars. They checked my body mark when I emptied my transition area; thought that the security was a great idea. Next year, it's more OLY, a HIM and a marathon to train for an IM in 2009.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: This was a dissapointing race for me. I was really on track to have an excellent race up to half way through the bike. All my races this year I have finished top 10 except this race If I hadn't had the leg issues and had done a 2.27hour time I would have got 8th in my AG and about 50th over all. This sport is a tough sport after podiuming last race and experiencing today's results a lot depends on the day. In thinking what went wrong maybe I pushed too hard on the swim?. I think three main issues. 1/ I don't train on the flats and being stuck in my Aero bars for 25 miles without any break killed my hammy. 2/ In my race fuel I had Spiz and Water and no Electrolites I think I got dehytrated. 3/ My nutrition the week before the race was bad worked in NY a couple of days and went out for beers in NY on Thursday night... The Positives: ------------- 1/ Swim has always been my limiting factor, today was awesome. If I can swim this good next season beware if you are in AG 35-39 and race in

  • Comments: In my head I had decided today was the day I'd win my AG. I met all my time goals except the run, I really should be happy with the race. I'm still a little let down, but I have to remember it's only my first season. Now I've got the "off season" to work hard and place well in 25-29 next year. I'll be back to race this one again in '08.

  • Comments: The heavy humidity coupled with the pollution of Bridgeport does not help my breathing (even though the race is on the water). However, Mossman always puts on terrific events. Very well staffed and great goodie bags and dry-wick T-shirts for all. I even won a fuel belt for the worst bonk of the race!

  • Comments: i think bc of the heat they should have had more drink stations on the run, but it was a good course and plenty of volunteers and they were very helpful. it was the hardest race i've done to date, but the most fun. i felt very comfortable at the start and with my effort. as i do more races, i hope the comfort level stays the same or gets better.
