  • Comments: I totally exceeded my goals and was very happy about the race. My best case scenario predicted time was about 5:10- 5:15 and the goal that I actually told people was "5:20s." Overall comparison May 09- 5:43 Sept 09- 5:01

  • Comments: I thought this race was exceptionally run and the venue and atmosphere were great. I think next year it should be even better. The bike course was not hard but compared to the swim and the run, it was the most dificult terrain of the 3. I mean it is hard to beat a swim with a 1 knot current and a totally flat run!

  • Comments: Being an inaugural event, there are things that will need adjustments, but with this race the only thing I would have liked to see were more buses race morning. Other than that, I had an amazing experience. Everything was on time. The race crew did a great job organizing the event with the town of Augusta. The volunteers were so helpful. I don't have any other M-Dot race to compare this to, but if they are better, I can't see how. Great job by all.

  • Comments: These guys did a great job considering the number of athletes and the course layout. There were tons of volunteers. It did seem like the aid stations on the run could be better placed. Finally, a sub 5 hour half!

  • Comments: For as complicated as the logistics were, this was an EXCELLENT race. Fast and well organized. The volunteers were incredible and numerous. Can't say enough about how impressed I am with how this race was run with 3100 people there.

  • Comments: This was my first crack at the distance, and minus some poor decisions I really gave it all I had today. I really respect the 1/2 Ironman distance now. I have to give my hat off to the race organizers for this one. There is no way I thought they would pull this off being the inaugural event with 3,300 racers. The only real problem I had was the serious lack of space in transition, but everybody had to deal with it so what can you do. I think this race has some major potential for the future.

  • Comments: This was a great race. It was challenging for everyone. It seems to me that a lot of people underestimated the course. I feel that it is worth others looking into doing this race and has the potential to become a favorite amoung us athelets.

  • Comments: Great race, great venue. Tons of volunteers make this a fairly safe course. There were two Army trainees posted at practically every intersection or place where you could have made a wrong turn. The run course passed about four times through the same general area, making it a spectator-friendly event. I was kind of negative about this being an oversold Ironman event, prior to the race. But it was so well done and such fun that I will definitely consider doing it again.
