  • Comments: A lot of people say not to race within 2 weeks of a 70.3 or 140.6. I have 70.3 Boulder on August 4th but I thought if I raced, I could podium. I was shocked to see 31 guys in my age group for such a small race. I was also surprised by the talent in my age group. Last year, 1:15:00 would have got you 3rd place, this year it would have got you 12th place. Great race with amazing talent.

  • Comments: Inaugural year for this race and the organizers did a great job. Can't wait to race it again next year. I raced Clydesdale division and it was not divided into Open/Masters. So all the Clydes competed together. The guy who beat me is 11 years younger than I so I didn't feel too bad about that. Coincidentally, I would have finished second in straight 50-54 age group as well. Next week is a bigger race so we'll see how that goes.

  • Comments: This was my first race but I've been to others that were much better organized. Having said that during the swim I was dunked by an arm over the back of my neck while I was taking a breath. I swollowed much water and the kyaker let me hang on the kyak for a few seconds until I quit coughing.

  • Comments: 1st year for event and it was very well run. They ran into road construction problems and had to change bike into a double loop, but most participants were unaware because it was handled smoothly. Times posted quickly, no confusion on where to go. Post event activities were good. I personally like the 5 year age groups as opposed to 15 year groups, but other than that, nicely done by Sam and Isaac. Would definitely do it again and recommend this race.
