  • Comments: I think training was quantitatively enough, but may need to change type a little. This event was the worst organised I had done. All the races I have done this year were with the same company, so it's not normal for it to be like it was on this day. I think they had tried to take on too much and were trying to fit too many races in to a single day with the number of people they had and the room they had to do it. Having waves heading towards eachother in the swim was crazy. The transition was disorganised and there was no agreement between people as to where you should and should be entering/exiting for access and it seemed to change several times too. Not a major issue, but trying to co-ordinate where to meet my family several times was difficult when you got allowed in one way but then got sent out at the other end of an athletics track ! Sadly a bike was stolen at this race too, but on the positive side for everyone else it will hopefully improve the security around the transitions...although

  • Comments: Timing chip results said I was 3/10 AG. No hardware for me as the race company insisted I was 4th.

  • Comments: Probably my proudest race yet! The first one was pretty raw and reckless, the second one was long and made me nervous so I was more calculated. This one, I stepped out of the comfort zone a bit, went hard for the swim. Went hard while being smart on the bike and gave it my all on the run. Definitely the upgraded gear helped out (e.g. Garmin, tri-shorts). Gives me great inspiration to train more and also happy to know that I can still have great satisfaction doing short races. Shorter the race, the more intensity!

  • Comments: This was a good race for my first sprint distance. I would ask the RD to reevaluate the transitions for next time as well as check the distances on all three legs. All three seemed much longer than what they were supposed to be. Overall, I am pleased with my performance in this race. I exceeded my personal expectations. I wanted to finish at around 2 hrs, I did. I wanted to give more on the bike leg this time, I did. I wanted to survive the run, I did, AND I did it without walking at all, a BIG accomplishment for me. So, I am VERY happy with how I did. :-)

  • Comments: The swim start and the bike start were both way too far from the transition area. I met Jen (keepitup), Mark Benton and his wife and another yount BT'er from Tweed Ontario (sorry I forgot your name and BT handle!). My brother JP (IceT2) competed and finished a few scant seconds behind me! If he ever gets a decent bike, he will kick my flabby old butt!!!!
