  • Comments: Overall well organized...wasn't crazy about waiting in long line for race day packet pickup...took away from setting up transition and made me feel a bit rushed...I'm a race that likes to arrive early, set up and relax...then warm up... Post race wasn't much..just some sandwiches which is pretty standard of a Piranah run race.. Also, more a personal note, wish there were more participants...it's a lovely course and would like to see it stay around.

  • Comments: I am rating this race a 2 because when I came into the finish line they had taken the clock down.... They KNEW there were people out there because the last guy was being followed by the official on the Mt Bike who was radioing to the finish line....they knew we were out there. I finished...I AM a Half Iron Woman....70.3 is a big deal and I was heartbroken when I came into the shoot with NO TIMER because they wanted to pack up and go home. I grabbed a sub sandwich and went to transition to text my husband in Afghanistan who waited up for me to finish (thanks you honey!) and the clean-up crew asked me to move my bike so they could take down the racks....I mean really!!! give me two seconds to get back to my stuff. Very disappointing.

  • Comments: My goal was to go under 6:30 in this, my first ever HIM. While I achieved that goal, I paid a steep price physically. It was tough, but I will be better prepared for the next one.

  • Comments: This was a first-time event. Nice shirt, bare bones race. But a tougher course than Providence 70.3 and much closer to home. No huge crowds on the course, or at the finish line, and an almost lackadaisical approach to the event. No signs or lighting to guide drivers to the race site in the pre-dawn hours. On the other hand, no high entry fees, no minimum stays in hotels, and I was able to register 3 days before the race. No required Saturday bike check-in, so I didn't have to be out there 2 days in a row. I'd do this one again.
