  • Comments: I love any chance to swim an open water swim race. The check in process was easy. The chip was ginormous though! I saw post race cups of water, but didn't see any other refreshments. It would have been nice to have something. Also, they had bag check, but it was just a sectioned off square of grass where you could put your bag. No one checked any numbers so it wasn't any more secure than just leaving your bag in any other grassy area.

  • Comments: Pros: 2.4 mile open water swim at the beach. We could tack it onto a visit with Karen and Mike. OK long sleeved shirt. Bag check at race site (although the volunteers at the timing chip table didn't know about it). Nice location - sandy beach entry and clean, open water. Cons: Lack of restrooms. Didn't start on time. Timing system seemed to have issues. I would probably do this race again if it happened to work out with our schedule. I don't think I'd go out of my way to fit it in. It was great to get an OWS in though.

  • Comments: There were zero porta pottys and the 1 bathroom they had at the park was quickly inoperable. Hardly any food at the finish for almost 500 racers and little dixie cups of water. I heard that almost 200 folks signed up yesterday and today so maybe it was too late to do anything about the packed house.
