  • Comments: Once you manage to get to the race site (which is a bit of a challenge between the traffic jams, the parking and walking from the car park to transition), the site and atmosphere are very good. The weather was fine so overall it was a very nice event and think we'll be there next year. Highly recommend it!

  • Comments: That was my first Olympic, I had a blast. I loved every minutes of it even if it was hard, harder than I thought to be honest. Especially holding a fast pace on the run after a 40km on the bike.

  • Comments: This was a nice race - not as developed and organized as the Subaru or HSBC races in Ontario but the cool venue still made it very worthwile.

  • Comments: I didn't have a time goal for my first Olympic distance race but was hoping to finish somewhere around 3:15. My finish time was better than I anticipated although I was a bit disappointed with my T1 time and thought I had a faster run. I am also taking into consideration the weather factor and a bad case of PMS, which slowed me down considerably on the bike and run respectively. I am overall pleased with my race and next year will be another story altogether. I plan on doing two Olympic distance races before my half-ironman and will be better prepared. I have committed myself to 1) clean eating, 2) become a better and faster runner in 2008 and 3) loose the extra weight to help acheive #2. The course was great, flat and fast, no current in the basin. I wish we would have raced under dry and warmer weather, I would have done much better if it were the case. As far as the organization goes, I have to give them 2/5. It all started last week when I received the parking pass I ordered at

  • Comments: Once I recovered sufficiently I went to get my meal ticket only to find the line for food to be longer than I was willing to tolerate. My Dad insisted that I get my scraped leg looked at, and further insisted that I get a tetanus shot. The medical people cleaned the wound, then I packed up and left. I met Katherine at the end of the race, some of her friends were talking to my parents and she was standing right next to them. It was very cool to meet my first US BTer.

  • Comments: I wouldn't do an Ironman to this race because the bike is a loop - the run is a loop - so it's discouraging when you know you have to run the same 5K again and again. I prefer when you start at one point and you finish at another without seeing the same people encouraging you 4 times!

  • Comments: The swim was a little scary with the weeds, the bike was AWESOME - so much fun, and the run was boring. That said, the race was very well organized, the weather was beautiful, and our club had a lot of fun in Montreal. I will definitely consider doing this race again.
