  • Comments: Overall, I loved this race. I loved that it was a benefit (for Disabled American Veterans Transportation Network), the course was beautiful, and the post-race party was so enticing that my family actually joined me at the finish line and had a great time. There were also quite a few kids participating in the race - very cool to see them out there having fun! Also, a shout out to Just Riding Along in Bradford, who fit me in for a last minute tune-up on my ancient mountain bike, which definitely contributed to a happier race for me. They also donated the bike for the benefit raffle. Thanks, guys!

  • Comments: Didn't get to enjoy the festivities after the race due to lack of transportation shuttles back to retrieve car and bikes. The results kept changing and awards had to be handed back. Upsetting for younger triathletes who had to return their medals.

  • Comments: First, congratulations to a member here for winning his age group, well done Trout. I am sure his race update will be much more indepth than mine. I turn 50 next year, so I have almost a year to get myself ready. I am glad I found this site, the help and material I have found here has been great. Now that I have done this once, I know how bad I am and the things I need do work on. As far as this event goes. First and foremost it is a charity event to raise money for the local Disabled American Veterans, this is only the 6th year for this event and it is growing by huge percentages each year. This year they raised over $22,000 for a very worthy cause. I am sure they could do more to make it a more "professional" race, and it seems that is the direction it is moving. For me, now I have a benchmark and a place to start. I know what I have, and what I need to do to get better. Hopefully, I will be able to find another race to fit into my schedule before the season ends. Next year

  • Comments: The starting system this year was too long.....with each participant going every 10 seconds. Due to ppl cutting, etc....I ended up going near the back, rather than by age groups

  • Comments: The race is a fundraiser for the Disabled American Veterans. The race itself is secondary. The staff have done a great job putting this event on. It's getting to a point where they may need more staff on the course to guide and direct the participants...especially at the start. The number of racers goes up each year - this being the 5th annual. They had 90 more than last year. Maybe add the transition mats in. The post race festivities are great with a free meal for racers. A goodie bag with a t-shirt and other things. Free water, gatorade and fruit. Looking forward to next year already!
