  • Comments: Like I said, I am happy with my overall results. After it was all over I reflected back to that moment in the water when I was thinking I was going to have to give up but I am not a quiter and I did the right thing, I finished what I started and ended up kicking ass on the other 2/3 of the race. It's not a one event race, there is always room to make up for lost time. I am happy and I felt like it was a great first race for me and at the same time a good stepping stone for Philly.

  • Comments: Liked the race location/venue; not sure why more people weren't entered. Unfortunately, some of the race organizer's people were in a serious accident on the way down and the van with the timing equipment and chips was overturned, with the timing equipment lost or destroyed. Fortunately, nobody seriously hurt. They were unable to post race splits as a result so my times are based on what I saw on my stopwatch and bike computer. Hate being in last wave; knew I'd be near last out of water, which means I ran the rest of race pretty much by myself because the majority of the "pack" was gone.

  • Comments: I enjoy this race. It's fairly close to home, well organized, & a competitive field. A good early season race to check fittness. Too bad about no timing chips...everyone likes to know their splits. I took my splits with my watch like in the old days of triathlon. My biggest pet peave is drafting. I saw a few packs & called one woman a "cheater"(#571). All decked out in Elite gear & obviously drafting...didn't faze her one bit. Oh well, there will always be cheaters.
