  • Comments: Humid (100% humidity with dense fog for the 1st hour) and warmer than I like. Seems odd for me to be happy with a race 23 minutes slower than my PR, but considering only 10 months ago I was receiving round 6/6 of chemotherapy for lymphoma, I'm elated to be back running again.

  • Comments: For my first half-marathon, I couldn't have asked for much more. The only downside with it being downtown is very little space to spread out and move around, stretch, etc. But good post-race spread, nice scenery and encouragement along the way. Looking forward to trying the full next year.

  • Comments: Really overall a great event. I would definetly return to Des Moines to do it again next year. Will definetly try to be in better shape for it next year though. Have been doing a lot of swim and bike training in the last 2 months and have fallen off on my long runs, something I plan on fixing soon in preparation for half ironman next summer!

  • Comments: It's a well run race that had a record number of participants. They include the section in Water Works park to eliminate hills, but I would rather run hills than the flood barren area of that park.

  • Comments: Awesome race with awesome features. Aid stations were everywhere. They adverstised alot of bands but I don't think there were as many as they said but it was still great. Medal was awesome, food was great. Overall great race. I will be doing the marathon next year.
