  • Comments: Gina, Thank you so much for supporting me, inspiring me, motivating me. This has been my best year of racing yet. One year ago I had three goals set for 2012, a podium finish, To become an IronMan and to qualify for Boston, and you were with me all the way. I love you.

  • Comments: It was a nice day but the course was kinda crappy. You go uphill for 7 miles and then you go downhill for a long time. Very few sections that are flat. It really messed up my rhythm and my legs. Probably the best half marathon race I have run so far even if it's not a PR.

  • Comments: This was the inaugral Santa Barbara Marathon and they did a really great job with it. There were some very minor communication glitches, but everything was resolved quickly, and the organizers were very good about responding to questions (at least, from what I saw on their Facebook page). There were tons of volunteers and the spectator support was impressive considering this was the first year. The course wasn't *amazing*, but it was pretty and peaceful. I thought the loop in the first half would be annoying but it wasn't bad at all. The last two miles of the course really are spectacular (even if most of us runners were in too much pain to appreciate it) and the finish is beautiful, right on the beach.
