Comments: There were 15 participants overall and 4 of them were girls. There was no age group separation. Awards went to top female, top male and overall winner.
Each event was to see how far you could go in 20 minutes.
My heat did the tri in complete reverse. We ran first, then biked and then swam. Honestly, I didn't think it was any more difficult than had it been "normal." Of course, it was only 20 minutes per event, but it still was not as tough as I'd expected.
Upon first calculation, they announced me as the female winner. I was completely surprised by this. I had done very well on the bike, but the other ladies were beating me in the other events. So, after feeling pretty good for a half an hour, they realized they'd been calculating the points wrong. I went from first to third out of four. I was a little bummed, but honestly, that's about where I expected to fall and I came out beating myself more than I'd anticipated so it was a great race for me.
Having "come in first place,"
