  • Comments: Due to past disappointments years ago in what the Cornhusker State Games had to offer, I vowed to never do CSG again. I reaffirm my vow! Little things mean a lot: At most events, there is usually an ample amount of beverages--bottles of water or sport drink--available. Afterward, there were bagels and fruit, but when I asked about beverages, I was informed that there were a couple of coolers outside. I went outside, but there were no cups. I returned to the volunteers and asked about cups, but they had that "We're just volunteers" look. A woman asked another woman who seemed to be the head official (at this event and the one two weeks earlier) "Are there any cups?" The following ensued: Official: (looking at me, with a condescending tone) Don't you have a water bottle? Me: (somewhat taken aback by her tone) Well, I guess I'll go back to my truck to get one. Official: (childishly toward me) Awwwwwww. Me: It just seems logical that there would be a stack of cups. Official: Awwwwwww. Me:
