  • Comments: I'm sure this would have been an amazing race if the weather had cooperated. There were pretty much no crowds, and the volunteers (who were amazing to be standing out in the weather for as long as they did) were pretty miserable too. It seems that the people coming in from the marathon missed any kind of band that was playing at the end and from what I heard most of the food was gone by then too. Other than that....it was fantastic! The people that made it out and braved the weather should be proud.

  • Comments: Great race, other than the weather. It was cold, rainy, and windy. Waiting for the start and after the finish was painful, but the race itself was fine. Maybe I will try the full marathon next year (ugh)

  • Comments: The race was just like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...Cold, horizontal rain, and about 8,000 13.1 runners.. What else could you ask for?? First time the course was backwards in the layout and it was good.. I liked the small hills in the beginning with the straight shot to the finish.. The course was well marked and the volunteers were real troopers to be that helpful and still cheering on the runners.. I thanked them when I could for being there for us.. I started out with set time goals for 4 key points along the course and figured if I could hit them up to the 10 mile mark, I would stay with the pace. This was a practice race to kick off my training for Vineman 70.3 in July.. I was pleased with myself to be able to put the elements out of my mind and focus on those time goals.. I had this bizarre idea that I might break 2:15:23, which the time goals were set for... 2:17:23 had been my fastest to date and that was like 2 years ago.... Running this same race last year under completely

  • Comments: I am already set to make this race in 09 my next (3rd) marathon. Hopfully with a better base of training and more favorable weather, I'll get my time goal.

  • Comments: Once again there was little if anything left for the marathoners once they finished. I couldn't even find a bottle of water. I was handed a bag with some food in it but I could not find any liquids whatsoever. Very frustrating.

  • Comments: This is a very well organized race in a beautiful location. The weather was not normal for this location or time of year. It sells out very quickly for good reason :) :) :)

  • Comments: I took it out very easy as I had no warm up, then settled into a comfortable pace. Built speed as the distance got longer, and pushed hard the last 3 miles...very good result early in the year, expecially with the limited running I have been able to do...
