  • Comments: In retrospect I'm a little disappointed in myself. I could have pushed a lot harder. I used the fact that I'm racing Iron distance in a month's time to not push myself. I do this to myself and it's like a kick in the butt. Re-focuses me. It seemed like I was a lot more motivated to crack 5 hrs at Elephant Rock and that wasn't even a race... oh well live and learn.

  • Comments: My goal going into the race was to break 5 hours. Ultimately I fell short of that goal, but still set a PR. I walk away satisfied with my time, but with the feeling that I fell a bit short. This is just the motivation I will need to train hard to get fitter and faster. I really enjoyed this race. I think the course was fair and the scenery is amazing. I plan on doing it again.

  • Comments: What a race, it felt so good to just lay it all out there, and even if he were to catch me, I still think I would have felt the same. Knowing that you gave it your all and had nothing left to give. What a feeling! Today: Paying for that "laying it all out" thing I did race day. My hamstring hurt so bad last night that I didn't sleep a wink. Still worth it though! This was my 5th time doing this race. And every year has been hot, but I think this year was the hottest! I hope I can break the 5 hour barrier someday. Year 1 5:54 Year 2 5:38 Year 3 5:34 Year 4 5:08 Year 5 5:01

  • Comments: the post race events and sponsor tents were shutdown when I finished otherwise the event was well organized. the official race shirts with athletes names on the back were missing names, and since I have the worst luck with those types of things my name was missing.

  • Comments: I have never done this distance before so I didn't know what to expect. I knew I'd learn something. I learned: 1. I need to hydrate more and replenish salt 2. I need to reapply sunscreen. Once isn't enough. I had two goals. First, I wanted to finish, which I did. Second, I figured that if I had a good day I would beat 6 hours. I did that even though I bombed the 2nd half of the run. I'm very happy with my performance!

  • Comments: I love this venue, the courses are spectacular. Even the shade-less 'Bataan March' style run.

  • Comments: Awesome event with a ton of support. For me the run aid station did not run out of anything. Gatorade, coke, ice, sponges, water. Excellent event and awesome volunteers. Well supported.

  • Comments: While I really enjoyed this race, I think I might go back to the Harvest Moon if I do another 70.3 distance. The bike was beautiful, but the heat of August was just a bit too much for me. Especially being in the third to last wave to take off (I guess at least I wasn't last) Also, I about had a mental meltdown when I got to the food tent and they had "run out" of everything except fruit. It was a great course though! If it took place later in the year I would consider it again.

  • Comments: They ran out of pizza! Really? It sounds kind of trivial but after a terrible race the last thing I needed was to see the people before me leave with the last slices of pizza. My family waited for me and after 30 minutes still no pizza because they couldn't get through the traffic. I left hungry... Traffic leaving could have been much better organized as well.It took forever getting to the main roads.

  • Comments: Generally good organization from a very experienced outfit. Almost everything was run very well. And Boulder is a great town to do a triathlon in. My main disappointment was with the post-race provisions. After exiting the finishing chute competitors were left struggling to find a few inches of shade to shelter from the brutal sun, and it took some searching to find the rather disappointing post-race food and drinks
