  • Comments: This was a new setup for the Columbus Marathon. New start/finish lines, course changes throughout. I felt like this event did not live up to the standards that I have come to expect (and appreciate) over the previous 4 years. Case in point, when I finished, mind you behind 163 other racers, I was told that the finisher medals weren't ready yet and that nobody knew where they were. No big deal, really, but it is just an example of some of the disorganization this year. Not sure if I'll be back next year.

  • Comments: I enjoyed this race, I put everything I had into completing it under my goal time. Just not to that level yet! I do feel I left everything out on the course, and specifically around mile 10 or 11. Looking at the pace data I was surprised to see how long I managed to hold close to 7:50 pace, I didnt think I was close to it. Now time to put more miles in and get over that (Or under) the 1:45 wall.

  • Comments: Great race! 5,000 marathoners and 10,000 half marathon runners and walkers. The spectators on the course were awesome! Spectators were on the ENTIRE length of the course. Numerous bands playing music on the course. Seemed like there was a band playing at every mile interval. Set a PR today for the half marathon...and a third place age group finish to boot in a age group field of 37...Wow! Great race!

  • Comments: This was only my 2nd Half Marathon. My first was a pretty small one in the FL panhandle. This race was probably 10 times larger and it was awesome. I loved everything about this race. The course had plenty of good loud spectators. The live bands throughout the route were great too. Course was flat and fast. Maybe next year I will do the full.

  • Comments: I had a question about packet pickup about a week before race day. I e-mailed the coordinator and the RD actually e-mailed me back...within a couple hours. Very impressive. What a production! That event was a massive, massive undertaking and these guys were on the ball. I can't wait for next year!

  • Comments: I liked the corral system, but they need to give an option for someone who doesn;t have an "official" time. I feel like the crowd cost me some minutes (mostly the walkers) and i believe that they should have to have their own corral. Other than that it was a great experience

  • Comments: This was a great race -- well run, well laid out, and great spectators. Who could ask for anything more? Post race area was well-managed with runners moving in and out efficiently and effectively.
