  • Comments: This race has room to be one of those "I must do this again for the rest of my life" type of races. First year jitters aside, it was very well put on, and despite the lack of marking on the course(s), all I have to say is, it is on the athlete to know the course, maps were on line! No excuses for the three race leaders to take a wrong turn, that is on them and not the RD. Look at the map, look it up on google earth(I did) and pay attention to your surroundings. Don't bag on the RD if you screwed up. There are too many in our sport that don't read the USAT rule book (blocking and drafting, as well as the old "know the course" rule), ok I am off my soapbox. I hope that I will get to come back to next years race, if I can get leave!

  • Comments: This is a fun local race with a good vibe. There were some organization difficulties but that's to be expected since it's the first year for the race. I'd like to see some aid stations, mile markers, and better course measurements next year. That said, it was a fun race and I'd do it again. I hope the organizers bring it back for 2011.

  • Comments: This race was brought back from 18 years ago and overall I think it was done well. Some suggestions might be to put mile markers out on the run along with some water stations. I saw 3 guys turn around during the run, 2 turned around about the 1 mile marker and I heard them say that they made a wrong turn and ran an extra 1/2 mile. On my way back on the run I observed a group of people running towards me and the trail guy turned around and headed back. He had about 1/4 mile to go to get to the turn around. Not sure why these guys turned around and I always thought it was the racers responsibility to stay on course. I thought the run course was marked fine but maybe not for other people, so maybe a few more cones or volunteers to help people stay on course. Overall, I thought the race was done well considering it was brought back from 18 years ago. The racers were all great, the weather was beautiful and I will be back next year.

  • Comments: I appreciate this race being brought back. And it's a great course. But, it had some "inaugural year" growing pains: no aid stations on the run, too few volunteers for check-in (you need more than one person body marking!)... with a little work, it would be great to see this one grow into a summer must-do event.

  • Comments: There were no mile markers on the bike or run and no aid stations on the run. Its only a 5k but when its 90+ degrees at least one aid station would have been nice.
