  • Comments: Another Endurance Sports Managament race. Another race that started late. Course was well marked. On the run course, though, there were 2 unmanned aid stations that were passed twice apiece. Miles 2/8, and 3/6. On my way out, both had plenty of water cups/gels out on the tables. On the way back, though, at Mile 6, there was no water nor gels. At 8, there were a few gels scattered on the table, and some cups that you could fill yourself. It would’ve been nice to have a person at each table filling up cups. The other stops were fully manned.

  • Comments: I had done this race once before, and several other races put on by Endurance Sports Management, and they have always been great. Today, however was a different story. Transition area parking lot was terrible, with huge potholes, terrible pavement and loose gravel everywhere. They did warn us about this, but they could've at least swept the gravel. Also, on the long run up from the lake to T1, the pavement was better but there was still gravel and twigs everywhere that should've been swept. Packet pickup was slow, I had to wait 30 min to get stuff. Race was delayed by 20 min due to the log jam at packet pick up. Bike course was not well marked. I know 2 sprint racers who missed the turn to their finish adn rode an extra 10 miles. Post race spread was nonexistent. Had to walk the 200m back down the steep hill to the almost all the way to the lake to find a table with a box of oranges, 2 bananas left, a few granola bars, and trail mix. A guy at the finish line gave me a bottle

  • Comments: I placed 2nd in my age group (only 7) and I'm really really happy about that. (Especially since it was my 3rd Triathlon). My goal was 4:15 and I beat that by 10 minutes. It was a tough course, but I really enjoyed it, especially the bike leg. I made up my mind that I was going to push it really hard on the bike and hope that i had enough gas in the tank for the run. Well...I ran out of gas, but finished strong enough to place. I was really disappointed by the lack of nutrition on the run course. I now know to carry my own no matter what is promised. Today was a great day because I finally got to see all of my hard work pay off.
