  • Comments: CMS doesn't put on quite the event that Setup does for its races, but overall it was a pretty good race. The course was challenging for me. There were not quite enough volunteers at the finish. I had to get my own medal and water. They seemed to be running out of water. The race announcements were a bit chaotic and hard to follow. Overall, however, it was a pretty good race.

  • Comments: I really enjoyed this race, and it seemed to be well organized. The volunteers were really friendly and helpful, and the venue was really nice and scenic. The only minor gripes I had were the parking issues I mentioned above and the fact that the time statistics they provided at the end aren't as robust as I'd like. Unless I'm reading these incorrectly, they provide what each athlete's cumulative place is at each stage in the competition (i.e., Matt was 47th in his age group overall after the bike), but they don't isolate and rank how each athlete compared to the others in each individual event (i.e., Matt had the 40th-fastest bike in his age group, and as a result of that, plus his mediocre swim, he was 47th in his age group after the bike). These are really minor gripes, though. I enjoyed the race, and will definitely consider doing it again. Thanks very much, Charlottesville.

  • Comments: the announcer was very long winded and it was annoying. awards took about 3 times as long as they should have.

  • Comments: I think for a first year race it was good - I would like to see more buoys on the swim, some more directing of traffic on the bike. The people in the neighborhood were super friendly and the volunteers were great. I would definitely do this race again.
