  • Comments: This was definitely my favorite IM of the 4 I have done (LP, AZ, and KY as the others). While they were all great, the venue, organization, and spirit of IMMT were a cut above. Absolutely top-notch. And if you have kids, I can't imagine there is a better IM venue out there.

  • Comments: Very impressed, well run except for a few flaws, finding registration and the athlete meeting being waaaayyyy too late. I think it didnt start until an hour and change past it's scheduled time.

  • Comments: Wow. First IMMT is just an amazing amazing experience. While it is my only 140.6 to date, it was an extraordinary venue and event. When I picked my first full last year I had read the early rave reports and decided on this over IMLP. I can't exaggerate how much local support the community puts behind this race. The town is all in, as evidenced by 3 WTC events here in 2014. If you've got a family, it's not even a question. People have said it's a hard course, but if you train anywhere near hills like we do in the northeast it's REALLY not that bad (i ran a 34/28). From my perspective, I met my goal of sub 13. I can identify an easy 15-20 minutes I left out there at my current fitness level, but at this point, really, that's not important. I think if I really went after it I could have pulled a 12:20 or so. Before Sunday I was pretty adamant that I wouldn't be doing another one of these until the kids were in college. Now I'm not so sure. I'll focus on sprints and 70.3's in

  • Comments: As disappointed as I was with my overall time and placing, I have to applaud the volunteers, the town, and the whole staff that put the race on. It was a great event and I felt very supported throughout the whole weekend. Even though I didn't get a slot to Kona I was glad to see those who did at roll-down and elation that they showed was almost contagious. Katie and I have decided that IM racing will not be in the cards for the foreseeable future as I want to be with Jackson and Katie on weekends and after work. Maybe one day I'll get one of those Kona slots, but it probably won't be for quite a while. Here's a link to my blog post on those precious 7 seconds: http://262toboylstonstreet.blogspot.com/2013/08/7-seconds.html

  • Comments: Best venue I've ever seen for a race. I've seen it compared to LP, but Mont Tremblant definitely takes the cake. Beautiful course, everything is a very central location and it was expertly organized.

  • Comments: I love Ironman Canada in Penticton (or what once was IM CAN now that they are moving) but I think that Ironman Mont-Tremblant is now my favorite venue. Can't say enough good things about this race. I'm already registered for this race for 2013 and can't wait for round 2.

  • Comments: This was a fantastic race. While watching the finish (after we were done) Mike Reilly said a number of times that he couldn't believe this was the first year of the race. It was the best inaugural year he'd ever seen. There were sooooo many volunteers who were so helpful. The finishing chute was AMAZING and the setting was just beautiful. I highly recommend this race - the course I think is fair - just the right amount of challenge but with the loops you never really feel alone.

  • Comments: I can't say enough about Mont Tremblant and the race. The place is awesome, I asked several people who have done IM's if they are all like this and they all said not even close. This was my first IM so I have nothing to compare it to. The whole community came out to supprt the racers and people were still congratulating me a few days after the race. My wife and kids ran a 1K and 5K race on Thursday, there were a ton of activities for the kids. None of us wanted to leave. It was a bit expensive but we treated it like a vacation. My one regret is that I couldn't make it back down to the finish to see the last racers cross the line. I wouldn't have been able to do any of this without the support of my wife who had to sacrifice a lot so I could get my long rides and runs in on the weekend. Thank You, Allison. An ironman is an awesome experience but one that I will not attempt again until 2014. It is too much every year with two young kids and a wife that also does tris.

  • Comments: I cant believe I finished. Here's what I learned from this experience. Race execution (pace, fueling, etc) makes a tremendous difference in a race of this length -- I think it was the only thing that got me through. This was IM #5 for me, and I can honestly say it was my best-executed race to date. Strangely, being sick forced me to moderate my effort and focus on fueling. If things aren't working, you need to adapt. My stomach did not accept my original nutrition plan, so I tossed it to the side of the road (literally), and found things on the course that worked.

  • Comments: Everything about this race is ideal. Perfect location for spectators, great roads to ride on, lots of accommodations right on site. I don't know how you could make it any better!
