  • Comments: This is an awesome race. It is really well run and the volunteers are awesome. I just HATED that swim because of the cold cold cold water.

  • Comments: The finishers food was good as well as plentiful. The medal is pretty cool (a replica of Lake Superior). I would like to see better nutrition on the run course. The RD was in constant communication with us about the changes. A very fun race.

  • Comments: Some confusion about where the finish line was, mostly for spectators. I would have liked better route and support maps. There weren't hard copies. But I liked the location and the lake and the boats. Nice bike ride for the most part, but it's Duluth, so it's tough to get in and out of there. I'd work on that run course.

  • Comments: This was a great race, and I'm not just saying that because I broke the 6 hour mark for the first time! I've been impressed by the level of organization since this race first came online, and they pulled it off with great success. There was alot of potential for logistical complication but it appears that prior planning really payed off for them. Generally there's at least one major issue that comes up at an inaugural race, and I can't think of anything in that category. My biggest complaint was about the lack of water station at the super hot out and back on the run. So if that's my biggest issue then this race was a win! I'm not ready to register for next year yet, due to my own future race schedule issues, but I would absolutely do this one again.

  • Comments: I really liked this experience. Family could see the entire swim, and see me at multiple spots on the run course which they enjoyed. The course was fun, not confusing at all once you were out there. The packet pick up could be orginized better, but I got there early so it was fine for me. I think the water stops were where they were to keep litter out of the lake. Already signed up for next year.
