  • Comments: The parts of the race that Set-up Inc organized and supervised went quite well. As with most things that Virginia Amateur Sports (the co-sponsor) has a hand in, there were screw-ups, un-informed volunteers, and people showing up late for their posts. Set-up is a top-notch organization, and VAS is truly a b-grade outfit.

  • Comments: So I made all my goals for this race. I didn't freeze on the swim, my bike pace was > 16 mph (goal was >15 mph), and my run pace was 10:20, when my goal was sub-12 min/mile. Only disappointment was the swim time. Oh, and my overall time was 1:43:19, when my goal was <1:49.
