  • Comments: Overall 4:58:11 (T1 = 1:59, T2 = 1:21). SUB 5:00! 7th in AG out of 111. That was my whole goal coming into this season, and I'm so happy I was able to do it. Conditions were ideal, and the race just came together nicely. Now to work on that swim...

  • Comments: I guess I was expecting it to be ‘more’ being an Ironman 70.3 race, but it was great on its own. Bad: If you are from Florida it is COLD & HILLY. Good: Everything else. Great support. Great volunteers. Great scenery.

  • Comments: Well organized race, which you would expect from an Ironman event. Why else would they charge an arm and a leg? PLENTY of water stations on the course with Gatoraide and PowerBar Gel. Unless you really need your own stuff, no need for a fuel belt. Loved the pizza and cookies after the race.

  • Comments: The swim started 10 minutes late. I think it was due to the fog. It seemed like this caused them to push the waves closer together which didn't help slower swimmers like me at all. My wife was volunteering and she noted that they were short volunteers everywhere. Some just left when they wanted to. All in all though, I thought the event was done pretty well. I would do it again.

  • Comments: My only issue with the course was that for both the run and the bike the miles aren't posted for the second loops. All the signs are out up to mile 25 (bike) and 6 (run), but nothing after that. Its a minor detail but it did annoy me.

  • Comments: I figured I would do this in a different format from my usual ramblings, so here is my best attempt to organise my thoughts about race weekend: Pre Race: Friday: So it was just me and my Dad on this trip, which was actually pretty cool. We took the Anacortes ferry down instead of taking the BC ferries over to Vancouver and driving through the border. We figured that would be the best move due to it being July 4th long weekend for our friendly neighbors to the south. We got into Everett around 3pm and found our hotel no problem. Great place to stay for race weekend. The Nest Western Navigator. Full kitchen. Magic stuff. We hit up a Trader Joe's(for those of you not in the know this is a great organic grocery store) to get some groceries and ended up having a couple great homemade meals instead of eating out at restaurants every day. We also hit up some outlet stores where I managed to get a couple good pairs of running shorts and shoes for cheap(compared to Canada). On a side note,

  • Comments: Great race! Superb organization, nice community, pretty course, lots of volunteers and spectators. Of course a PR by 1 hour and Clearwater slot (rolldown rocks!) are also factors in making this my favorite triathlon so far! :)

  • Comments: Not happy about going longer than 6 hours!! Its gonna make it easy to PR next year for sure! However, I'm stoked that I'm back! Its been 8 years of being out of shape and not taking good care of myself. I'm so glad my good friend Kilo_Dave challenged me to doing this race! He has been so helpful along the way! I am hooked!! I cant wait to log my training efforts and look at what everyone else is doing, huge motivation for me!! Now its time to strengthen my weakness and build on my strenths! I know next year I will crush my time!!

  • Comments: I didn't like how they changed the location of the bike water station. Expo is pathetic. Glad they forced me to attend the mandatory briefing and to find out that primo parking was limited and cost $10. Would like to see more cycle cops driving the course with bikes. Keep the local asswipes from being aggressive in their driving and passing of racers.

  • Comments: After everything that happened during this race I'm really happy with the results. I feel like it really pushed me mentally and I didn't let my psyche beat me. It gave me time to reflect and realize how fortunate I am to participate in this sport. I'm lucky to have the support system around me, the health, the time, and financial ability to do the things I love. I'm glad that I can compete at this level in a sport that I've only been involved for a year and a half.

  • Comments: First 1/2 IM is in the bag. Next one should be under 6 hrs. Would like more fluid stations on both bike and run. Also need more port-a-pottys set up. Didn't have time to do a full stretch routine due to waiting in the bathroom line.

  • Comments: I gave the race a 3 for a few reasons. The race expo sucked bigtime. For an Ironman sponsored event it was terrible. They only had 2 booths and that was it. Other than that I enjoyed the race, dissapointed they didn't have coke on the run, but it is a race worth doing. I will probably do this again next year.

  • Comments: This was obviously not a North American Sports organized race. Too few aid stations on the bike and not enough port a potties. The crowd was ok and the volunteers were enthusiastic though and they were a great help. I get spoiled by seeing IMCDA though so it's not really fair to compare other races to that. Had a fun time and would do this race again.

  • Comments: It's improving. I went to the expo and mandatory briefing. Phil Burke said it is one of the tougher bike courses in the USA. Just need to have some tweaks here and there.
