  • Comments: Superbly run race! Has to be one of the best races I've ever been too. The race directors and volunteers really did a great job with this one! Would love to do this race again.

  • Comments: This race was amazing - beautiful course, great volunteers, great crowd support, great music, excellent post-race festivities. Many little touches like personalized motivational message on the number marking your transition area. Fabulous schwag - great shirt!!. Hands down the best race I've experienced/been to, and it's already in my calendar for next year. I am also going to make it my first half-ironman when 2011 rolls around. I'm recommending it to everyone I see.

  • Comments: Just a great race - this ranks right with Columbia and Reston as one of my favorites. Pretty course, good crowd, well run, etc. So many nice touches - personalized messages on bike racks, great long sleeved tech tee and other fun giveaways (cowbell!, nutrition, shampoo, conditioner, etc), good food after, fun awards, etc. Would definitely recommend this to anyone considering doing it.

  • Comments: I just love this race. 700 registered athletes (666 finishers) and they managed to have everything completely organized and on time. The volunteers were fantastic, and the whole town really comes out to support everyone the whole weekend. I would recommend this race (or the HIM) to anyone.

  • Comments: I had been casually running and biking, but really I did less than two solid months of training - I can't complain about this result. The course was great and so were the volunteers. I really enjoyed the experience and I'm hoping that I can get my girlfriend to do one with me next summer, although it was nice seeing her along the course : )

  • Comments: Finished 3rd in my AG, but the 2 ahead of me placed in the top 5 women overall, so I got bumped to 1st in the AG. Got me a bottle of red wine, socks and Nuun.

  • Comments: Very good race, really enjoyed the environment that is created there. Swim was a little funky in the canal but was deep enough to actually swim in it. Gonna give doublemussel a try next year hopefully and experience the whole weekend!

  • Comments: My best race ever. It's number 5. Very, happy with the swim was able to freestyle the entire race. At the end of the run I noticed my right shoes was full of blood. Must have cut my toe at the swim finish. Three good slice in my big toe.
