  • Comments: no drinks at the end, stupid. no drink stations on bike but two on the run which was nice, only water though. Looking forward to this Saturday, going to give the same effort on the swim and bike and the first 15 km of the run.

  • Comments: Getting there at 7am and not leaving until 2pm really makes for a long day. Not that it was bad, but I think they could streamline some of it and maybe get us out by noon? I'm also not sure why the women olympic need to have the course entirely to themselves. I can see a 15 min headstart or something so they don't get clobbered by the men's initial washing machine, but 1hr? Come on. And certainly the sprinters could have launched 30 mins after the mens Oly. But maybe it had to do with the number of boats, or watching for people skipping buoys or something. Overall, 20+ mins faster than last year but because the weather was so brutal it's hard to compare. Swim and run times definately got better and at least some of the 15+ mins on the bike were due to having a better bike and the training. :) In terms of positioning, last year was 39/88 this year was 16/117 so definatly the work is paying off. If I can drop from 180 down to the 160s without losing muscle I suspect I'll see some

  • Comments: I never like the food here, it always tastes like powdered grainy sauce on pasta, ewww. Great prices, I even won a pair of shoes from the Tech Shop! Beautiful day, a million times better than last year!

  • Comments: As this was my first event, I have nothing to compare it to, but based on my experience, the only thing lacking was the weather, and I will not hold the organizers accountable for that.

  • Comments: This was my first race, and I FINISHED!! UPRIGHT AND SMILING. Regardless of my self depracation... I am very VERY happy with my result. I got exactly what I wanted. My results are not surprising. I predicted my times almost exactly. I had the most fantastic cheering squad who came to cheer me on and they all think that I am a winner. I think I am a winner too. I was also complimented by strangers for always smiling. Every photo of me in the race, I am smiling (lots of photos too)... I am a triathlete. I also met a fellow BTer who was FANTASTIC! Hats off to Calgary runner! This was great. I am really proud of myself. I am so happy for all the support I received. I am not ready to say "bring it on", but I have never felt so great in my whole life! Yay Me!
