  • Comments: Felt dosappointed due to poor swim and mediocre bike, but then later realized that I had done a PR, eight minutes faster than last year. Maybe my expectations are too high? Not sure.

  • Comments: Fun, well-organized race. Great volunteers, A lot of the bike course had been repaved since last year's race, which helped a lot. Ended up 4th in M60-64, more due to lack of competitive than my performance, but I'll take it.

  • Comments: Everything about the race was quality, except the bike course, which borders on being a disaster. I simply cannot rate the entire event higher with that bike course. Also, I'm sure the swim was longer than advertised. Finally, the finish line needs to be visible to the runners as they approach. Here, we could not see the finish until less than 50 years before getting there.

  • Comments: Just a little less everything than the other races I've done this summer. Loved the venue but not so much the race. It was a little unorganized and the bike was very dangerous. Too much congregation in the course. The positives were: My wife came along and got inspired. She enjoyed it and seems very motivated. Met Shellabree my first real BT friend and the only one I have actually met in person. She ran the run in zone 2 and still took 2nd. How nice would that be?

  • Comments: The course: Not so great. The bike course is unsafe and needs to be changed. Period. The fact that race organizers are trying to make us "ride on the left and pass on the right" is already an indication that the course is not up to par. Local events attract a lot of beginners. Add in the course congestion, flow pattern and lack of bike handling abilities... it's a disaster/accident waiting to happen (and it did, right in front of me)! Directions: I had to scream off the bike "where's the bike entry" b/c nobody was providing verbal cues. The same goes for a turn on the run course. Post race food: Terrific! Sharkys' on the Pier provided eggs, sausage, biscuits, fruit, bagels, OJ. The works!
