• Description: The feature event is the 2XU Hervey Bay Triathlon (an Olympic Distance Tri) which features:
  
  • 1500m calm ocean swim
  
  • 2 * 20 km laps of ocean front cycling
  
  • 10 out and back beachfront run
  
  • We place an emphasis on conducting a safe, fair, fun, and value event.
  
  • Field limits: 600 individuals, 150 teams
  
  • Race committee made up of dedicated and experienced triathletes
  
  • Entry fees from $125.
  
  • Projected prize pool is $33,000 cash and prizes ($3,125 for 1st, paying down to 5th then the rest in the AGs)
  
  • Random draw prizes include a ready to race time trial bike valued at $6,000!
  
  • Once again all competitors will receive a custom designed 2XU T-Shirt.
  
  
  Other Festival events include:
  
  • 1/8/3.6 k ocean swim on the Saturday morning.
  
  • GoKids! Triathlons on the Saturday afternoon (followed by movies in the park(free)).
  
  • Undie/PJ run on Friday evening (1600m)
  
  • Multisports expo all weekend
  
  • There is no surf here due to Fraser Island, water temp should be about 23 (so wetsuits a possibility)
  
  • Hervey Bay is a city of approx 70,000 located about 3 hrs drive north of Brisbane
  
  • There are (cheap) direct jet flights from Sydney and Brisbane
  
  • Travel and accom packages will be on the web site along with online entry.
