How long will it take before I start seeing some improvements? I have only been swimming for about a week and can go a maximum of 75 to 100m freestyle before I have to stop or use another stroke.

"I have recently started swimming again after not having done so in a number of years. I am fairly pathetic as far as distance goes. I was wondering how long will it take before I start seeing some improvements? I have only been swimming for about a week and can go a maximum of 75 to 100m freestyle before I have to stop or use another stroke. I also can't seem to go slow, I thought if I went slower I could get more distance but every time I try my legs start to sink. Any advice would be appreciated. "
