DENVER, CO (December 4, 2018) – Motiv Group, an active lifestyle, sports and entertainment company, today unveiled the details for the Wildflower Experience 2019, the one-of-a-kind triathlon and lifestyle experience.

Entering its 36th year, the star-studded line-up of professional and amateur triathletes from around the globe will compete in the weekend long festival event at Lake San Antonio in Central California from May 3-5, 2019. Known as the “Woodstock of Triathlons,” the Wildflower Festival and camping experience continues to attract thousands of participants each year.

Wildflower Experience is a three-day endurance festival celebrating multisport, music, wellness and outdoor adventure. This year’s event will feature three action-packed expo venues, a full schedule of triathlon and running events, including two new race categories: Aquabike and Open Water Swim. The weekend will also feature outdoor yoga sessions, top-notch wellness clinics and lifestyle experiences, including beer gardens, wine-tastings, food trucks and a variety of live entertainment.

“We couldn’t be more excited for the Wildflower Experience 2019 to kick-off,” said Sam Renouf, CEO Motiv Group. “This year’s event is shaping up to be the biggest and most engaging yet. We want Wildflower to be memorable for both the race participants as well as those coming to enjoy the weekend’s festivities. We’ve spent a tremendous amount of time planning and organizing best-in-class events for all attendees, from live music and entertainment to a world-class race through one of Central California’s most beautiful settings. So, whether you’re planning on racing, cheering or kicking back, this year’s event will be one to remember.”

Additionally, all-new aquatic events have been added to the legendary race schedule. For the first time, Aquabike and Open Water Swim race categories will now be offered to a full line-up of Wildflower triathlon race distances. The USA’s fastest growing multisport discipline, Aquabike combines long course swimming and biking and offers age group athletes another way to cross the iconic Wildflower finish line. With this new race category, athletes will mirror the world-famous Long Course. Participants will complete the 1.2-mile swim and 56-mile hilly bike course, rack their bikes then continue down the chute to the finish. Also new this year, the 1.2-mile Open Water Swim race will be available to athletes on Sunday in conjunction with the Olympic Distance triathlon and Collegiate Championship.

“We are thrilled to continue to expand race opportunities for our athletes,” said Colleen Bousman, Race Director. “The Aquabike format is popular with athletes who want to experience the unique challenge of a multi-sport endurance race without the 13.1-mile run. Wildflower Experience is such an iconic event, but we also recognize that triathlon is not the only way to experience swimming, biking and running. Our new swim events will enable more athletes to participate in the classic Wildflower Experience. Coupled with our stellar line-up of events, we’re confident that this year’s event will be our biggest and most successful yet.”
