  • Comments: The race started late due to late racers and people waiting in line. The RD thought it would be nice if we waited for people who clearly didn't bother to get to the race on time. So those of us that did, stood out in the freezing cold waiting. No-I'm not bitter :) Anyway, it was a spectacle becasue people started boo'ing and yelling for us to go already. It was pretty funny. Aside from that, and the NO water stop bewteen mile 21 and the finish it was okay. There were a couple times where the aid stations weren't stocked with enough people and I had to stop and wait for them to hand me a drink. It was a beautiful course and a perfect day for a marathon. Just not the flat course I was told it would be. heh. Defintely not flat. It's constant rolling hills. You're either going up or down. I would do the race again, but not for a time goal just for fun.

  • Comments: Good race with above average post race activities for a smaler low key race. I was a first time mrathoner so they gave me a framed bib number which I thought was a nice touch. My only complaint was there were no portapotties on the run. I have never seen so many people running into the woods (men and women) peeing and pooing- It was just weird!

  • Comments: Very good race-lots of volunteers and cheerful people along the way. Good aid stations placed about every 2miles apart. Good race for a 1st marathon and if you want to qualify for Boston-good one to try on.

  • Comments: The course set-up was terrific and everything from the volunteers to the post-race activities were great for the size race that it is. I would definitely recommend this marathon to anyone (except maybe first timers because of the lack of crowd support). It is a really relaxed race - you don't have to worry about being jostled about in a huge crowd, you get to see your other running friends several times out on the course and it's a really pretty area. I'm really happy with my run. My main goal was to BQ, but I think that I'm going to take this past weekend as a "training" run and head off to West Palm beach in a few weeks to attempt again. However, I managed to knock 40 minutes off of my previous PR from just a year ago and after checking the results page this morning, I noticed that I took 3rd in my age group. Guess I need to see about getting that award shipped. :)
