  • Comments: I really like the small hometown feel of this race - well organized but you really feel like family. My son had a great time volunteering and the older son has already asked me to do it next year - I think the presence of girls is drawing him! HA!

  • Comments: Good race except I was a little miffed they did the race give aways before everyone finished. Thats kind of RUDE. I knew I would be in trouble if it rained but I think I handled the bike really well. I didn't expect a whole lot and hopefully I didn't get pneumonia out there. I wish I hadn't been sick but you just gotta roll with it sometimes. Its better than not being able to race at all and even on my best day if I had the race of my life I would never place anyway so whatever :) Thanks to my coach Will Kirousis of tri-Hard coaching as always for believing in me, my mom and dad for being good iron sherpas and even better sports standing around in the rain all day, the Graves family for the same, DK and TriToy for waiting for my sorry slow butt to finish!! Thanks to all the patriots in our armed forces for serving and protecting this amazing country of ours!!! My mom says "You should just go for the glory and do that aquabike thing you could win that. You just aren't built

  • Comments: Elated to have accomlished this leap to long course-Grateful for BT friends support to do so. This race -at this time- was extremely important to me.Happy, HAPPY Dance. I am a lucky girl. As far as the inaugaural Patriot Half Iron goes- I have nothing but praise for the event and the organizers & would highly recommend it. The venue & course was beautiful & accurate, the bike course change for safety reasons (making it 60 vs 56 miles!) was necessary & well done, the mile markers & aid stations on both the bike & run were excellent , the transitions, the swim, the atmosphere, the post race food & music, awards, & support, prerace expo, seminar, registration, goody bags all very, very good.Kudos & Thanks to Race director for making the Patriot a destination race. For those who waded through this race report..thanks for reading..if I had written it the day after it would have been even longer & more detailed! This race was one of those "defining experiences" for me..no apologies for that.

  • Comments: The gang that runs cranberry ran this race as well. They did a FANTASTIC job on all aspects of the race. The post race events were stellar as well. Cranberry's food spread is good for a BBQ setting, however this race was catered! with plenty of chow. The band played on and on as well!! The only minor issue was post race security in the bike corral. I really dont like to think that someone could walk off with someone's bike, in this race no one was checking people as they came and went after the race.

  • Comments: They did a good job for this new race. I'd give it a five except that the course was long and some of the roads were really rough. I might make this my A race next year if I don't do an Ironman.

  • Comments: I couldn't have asked for a better day. It was really perfect and everything went smoothly in terms of transitions. Also, I was on my projected pace besides the run. I just knew I would be out on the bike forever and that I wouldn't even be close to done by the time the award ceremony would be done. I just wish I wasn't depressed and that it wasn't such a mental struggle. I really have to thank Joanne, Glen and Jorge. They were just awesome. Even though I haven't be able to be on BT since starting school, I'm really happy that I still around.

  • Comments: Enjoyable race and good volunteers. Good course, even if it was 4.2 miles long. I was very impressed with this inaugural race, and plan to do this again in 2008.
