  • Comments: The Seaside Half Marathon was a great destination race. A lot of fun. The out and back can be a little long, but overall a good supported and fun race.

  • Comments: The race sold out months ago. I hope they don't take that as license to increase the number of runners. That would be a disaster! There isn't enough room to handle any more runners on those narrow roads.

  • Comments: They had difficulties with the race results, and of course it started with my age group. They announced the first place finisher, then went on to the men. I started to pout. :( So I went up and questioned them, and it turned out that they had lost an antenna and they had been using wireless transfer, so they had to go to backup. Unfortunately that took a long time. But it turned out ok -- second in my age group! Well, now they've posted results on the website and it looks like they made another error yesterday, and I actually came in 4th instead of 2nd. I'm going to contact the race committee and see what they want to do.

  • Comments: I really love this distance. I hope that my first HIM will feel this good. I saw some of the local triathletes at the end. I have yet to introduce myself, but I know their faces. I really believe that I can hit my next half-marathon goal of 6 min./mile (~1:18 final time). Sub-6 splits would be amazing, but not this year.
