  • Comments: Well run race with a cost of $50. If they did chip timing, I'd happily pay a bit more. The weather is always a surprise.

  • Comments: This is a popular local race with many good runners. Although there was plenty of water, I should have carried some on my own. The stations were 2 miles apart and with the heat, I needed more.

  • Comments: As always, an extremely organized event. 20+ years, they've got it down to a science. Plenty of aid, support, and the post-race warm pretzels were just the thing. Mmmmmmmmmm........ :)

  • Comments: This is a great race, challenging course, good after race eats. Probably why it sells out in less than 24 hours. Great sweatshirt SWAG this year, too.

  • Comments: Racing is always fun and its even better with friends. I can't remember when I saw my Rabbit ( Derrick). I stalked him for several miles but then suddenly while going down hill I had the urge to try to pass him. The rabbit then not seem to want to catch me. Then mile 9 the big ass hill was upon us. VVrrrooom the rabbit gets a burst of energy and passes me up. I had nothing in the tank, luckily Kelly continued to push me. I felt bad for her since she could have ran a faster race. I wanted her to go on her own but did not have the energy to speak. I had some tightening on my lower right claf area but no cramp. Also there was a point were I wanted to vomit but did not. I am not sure if it was from endorlytes or the dirty fuel bottles. I have been trying to buy replacement bottle caps but cannot find any. Anyway I beat my time from last year by 3 min. Thank you Kelly

  • Comments: It's the first running race I've ever done, so I have to rate it a "5". Would do again next year if I can make it in again (registration fills up really fast).

  • Comments: Got my Corall C slot for Chicago! A month early! Great race, very challenging course with Hills that never stop. There are some nasty grades out in Cary. My time is watch time. I think the offical time will be 10 secs or so slower - no chip timing.

  • Comments: This is a well run, local race. This was the 30th anniversary year for the race, so they have it down to a science. The course is great, lots of volunteers and police out to control traffic. The hills can be intimidating, but there's nothing unmanageable about them. For the first year, I wasn't dreading the hills. This race is a permanent fixture on my schedule.

  • Comments: The race was very well organized, I felt. We started a couple of minutes late, but that was no big deal. The roads were nicely marked off for traffic. There were a ton of volunteers who all seemed very friendly, encouraging and supportive. Drink stations every 2.5 miles seemed perfect for me. 3 bathrooms on the course seemed like enough, as well. I noticed that the volunteers kept the drinking stations clean, picked up water/gatorade cups more promptly than most races I've seen. In fact, at most of the stations, most runners put the used cups into the trash bags instead of throwing them on the ground. I also only saw one Gu packet on the ground, so that was pretty impressive :) At the finish line, they had a tent set up with a computer...a few min after your finish, you could go up there and they gave you a detailed printout with your time and where you placed overall, in your sex group, age group and avg time per mile. I thought that was neat! They had plenty of bananas, apples,

  • Comments: Sunny day for a March half marathon in Cary. Hilly as expected but fun. Felt real good the 1st 5 miles but then started to slow down. Nice to see all the other tri members at the race.
