  • Comments: I swould say the race was too hard only because of the hills on the bike. They were very challenging! Overall take away 3 of the hills and the race would have been just right for me. I would not recommend this race as a first race unless you have the mountains of PA to train on. It was my longest swim and bike. I hope to register for an O distance next year.

  • Comments: This has been my favorite race to date. The venue was PERFECT for families with a large sandy beach and a playground. Lots of wide-open space for activities and picnic benches. This race had the BEST course signage. You did not have to study a course map ahead of time. I only breifly look at course maps as I expect the RD's to have adequate signs and NOT having to rely on asking the volunteers where to go. There were professionally done signs and arrows everywhere to mark the bike and run course and to make sure that you didn't accidentally go on the 1/2 IM course of vice-versa. This race also had the best post-race food to date with grilled hotdogs and very good hamburgers. Also pasta dishes, fruits and drinks. I liked the fact that there was very little music around the transition/finish area. I liked the quiteness of the lake and area. My kids had a lot of fun at the playground and beach too both days. I recommend families to stay at the Split Rock hotels. Indoor pools

  • Comments: Nice race. Tough, but fair, course. Well organized and good support. I'd like to try the half one day, but there's no way I'd do it 2 weeks after Harriman.

  • Comments: Since Beltzville is a state park, not many trash cans around. had to throw trash in dumpsters, since trash cans were over flowing. post race tent set up was good, volunteers were wonderful help, course is and open course, but the police did a great job to stop traffic and make it a safe route. Park is a beautiful place to have a Tri. Definetly will do again.

  • Comments: VERY well-run race. Wish we weren't moving so I could do more of the CGI races this year! They didn't miss a thing. Very challenging, scenic course that made me feel like I really accomplished something.

  • Comments: As you can tell I'm a bit disappointed. A very well run event and nice course but definitely a challenge. First race with wetsuit and new TT bike. I really concentrated on wetsuit and getting used to the bike. Learned a great deal about the importance of pacing and recovery. I'll never chase elite women again....tri chicks can really put a hurtin' on you!!!

  • Comments: Overall the race was very well run, especially considering this is the first year for it.. great volunteers, convenient parking, good aid stations, and- most importantly- plenty of bathrooms! Nice people and a quality event. I feel reasonably happy with the effort on this B-race, but again, not a huge confidence-builder for IMLP.

  • Comments: Loved this race. CGI was great. I predict this will sell out next year when the word gets out. Wish they had a little more for the kids to do while moms and dads are racing. A moon bounce would have gone a long way! Lastly, a special thanks to everyone at BT who contributes content to this site. Four months ago I couldn't run 3 miles without walking and whining about shin splints. I also couldn't swim more than four laps in a pool without an oxygen tank. So much of your input helped me prepare for this race and make it a huge success in my mind. And the sense of community both on this board and at the races only makes me more drawn to this incredible sport. Cheers to you all and good racing.
