  • Comments: I came into this race more trained than I have ever been and I had bests in bike and run times so I have no complaints. This was my first age group win in a triathlon so that was a really cool expirience. I like sprint triathlons a lot because you have to push yourself but also know your limits. I think I have room to improve in the swim and transitions, but this was a good race.

  • Comments: Despite me being sick, I managed to finish 3rd in my age group and was a minute and a half from 2nd and four minutes from 1st. It gives me something to work on for next year and it's a good way to guage my progress every year. I bettered my time by over seven minutes this year compared to last which is a pretty good accomplishment for a short sprint race. I am thinking next year I will be able to give 1st or 2nd in my AG a good shot. I ended up 29th overall which is also really well. The field was pretty experienced and I felt like I could hang with the big boys. Again, between my better training and eating habits, the amazing work my coach has done for me (elitetriathlontraining.com) and the support from friends and family, I am starting to get a lot better. My friend Taylor did amazing as well with a 1:18:13 time, good enough for 1st in her age group and 76 overall! She is doing great in her first triathlon season and her first two races she has finished 2nd and 1st in her age group.

  • Comments: Race was not chip timed due to an accident on the way to the race with several of the race organizers. Everyone was OK, but we just had the final time to go by.

  • Comments: The race was pretty good overall. I am giving it an average rating just because I do not have any other tris to compare it to. They definitely had a good day considering that their van rolled itself on the highway on the way to the race. They did a great job of regrouping and pulling the race of in spite of the accident. I would have like to have my splits but I understand what happened. I would do another one of their events next year.
