  • Comments: Don't know if I'll do this race again. I would love to because I loved dressing up, but it just seemed really disorganized and expensive. I really wish there had been more port-a-pottys and I wish the shirts would have been better. I like the DA hats, but we have 6 now and that is more than enough. We got some great pics of everyone: http://www.onetruemedia.com/shared?p=327687d7aee1bee9adccab&skin_id...

  • Comments: What can I say that hasn't been said? Yes, it's not DA's fault that the swim was cancelled, but I am just underwhelmed with this race and DA in general. Unannounced cancellation of the HIM race Poor communication about the race in general DA's continued crappy shirts and swag Race website mentioned finisher's medals but none were seen Insufficient number of portajohns for the number of racers Terrible conditions on the bike course Ridiculous run course Overall lack of detail on race traffic flow, safety and timing of the event. I'm done with Dallas Athletes events.

  • Comments: I wouldn't give Dallas Athletes a hard time over this race. The weather played a big role in causing last minute changes and they did the best the could. This race would have been awesome if the weather was typical for July, the humidity was lower, the lake wasn't a mess, and the grass in the park was mowed! It had tremendous potential. I prefer having numbered bike racks though. The green port-o-potties were awesome. I bet the lines were long because people lingered in those, washing hands, playing with the toilet flusher, etc...

  • Comments: This race ended my 26 week plan I had been following, so I was very happy how this race went for me. It was a great conclusion to my plan! Now to get ready for the Longhorn HIM!

  • Comments: This was my first year at this event. With the recent weather forcing the switch to a duathlon, my mind wasn't fully into the event when I arrived. However, I still put in a strong effort and was happy with how I performed. I can only give Dallas Athletes an 'Average' for this race. I know the weather is beyond their control, so I can't fault them for it becoming a Du. But between the HIM getting canceled and several other instances of delayed email responses, I was frustrated with poor race communications. (Plus, the swag was really pretty weak. Cheap t-shirt, and not even a clif bar sample.) As to the event itself: Pre-race was a bit disorganized, with no water set up for filling bottles at first. Racking is completely open - first-come, first-serve everywhere. Makes it a bit more chaotic to me. Disappointed to see that non-athletes over 12 (i.e. spectators) were being charged $5 admission since it was a state park. There definitely weren't enough porta-potties for the

  • Comments: Where to start? The run course was designed by someone who either is an Ironman and doesn't understand that it's possible to suffer on a run under 20 miles, or by someone with no heat receptors on their skin. Also, they must work for TXDOT because the traffic interchange at the 1st aid station looks like a high school cafeteria right after they announce they're running out of frito pie. In other words, it was chaos. Everyone was supposed to turn left, which wasn't a problem except that it meant you were crossing the stream of people already coming back from the left turn and subsequent turnaround. Additionally, the aid station was put on the right side of the road so you have people crossing both directions of foot traffic trying to get a drink. Then there's the olympic part of the run course, where they baked you for the better part of 2 miles *each way* on FM 3002 without an aid station until the turnaround. If you were on the sprint 5k you had essentially 3 aid stations; if you
