  • Comments: They had some issues as the long time race company had conflicts and they didn't get a replacement until the last minute. The lead group off the bike made a wrong turn at about 2 miles due to course marking being confusing. They also need to work on safety at the bike exit.

  • Comments: Not enough people, pretty small event. Not enough help on course with directions. I'm glad I'm a local or I might have missed some turns. Cops dissapeared for bike segment 2 and we were on our own with the tourist traffic.

  • Comments: I was surprised at the low turnout. This is a very good race, and I hope that they continue to do it!

  • Comments: Did not get to hang around afterwards and meet Ken, but I am sure we will race again. Knew several people there so I had a good time. I lost out on 3rd AG by 56 seconds and if I would have hit my goal time of 1:40 I would have came in 2nd. Oh well not bad for deciding to race on Wednesday!

  • Comments: What a fun race! I'm new at this, but I think I can convince some of my friends that this is a race worth doing!

  • Comments: I should have ridden my tri-bike more before taking to this race. I am sure that my cramps were from me not riding it specifically that much. After the race it was fun talking, eating, and drinking with the Floro-Bama crew. I finished 10 out of 11 but I am very satisfied with that. The level of athlete was a notch above most of the "sprint" or shorter course duathlons. The average bike was well above entry level, which is a good way to begin to gauge it. Weather was perfect also, which I think helped my run. Going sub 9 was a pleasant surprise. I didn't wear a watch or GPS and went on exertion. In fact I'm going to go re-double check to see if I really did that.

  • Comments: We had 6 bter's. Met all but Irish Eyes. Finally got to Sledge from my mentor group. She rocks and almost beat me. She won Grand Masters Female. Also great to see Matt (Biseman) again. He did beat me but I think he cheated. Fun day.

  • Comments: First, I love this bar. I have been going there since before I was old enuff to go there. The race course is about as good as it gets and the marines who volunteered were organized, polite, and didn't miss a beat. My wife said they were cute. I really think that is much more natural of a race then the standard run bike run. Ride somewhere, get off run around, then ride home. I beat my wife by about 4 minutes but she did good and won her age group.
