  • Comments: I was nervous and anxious leading up to the race just because I had never swam 4.4 miles let alone in open water across the bay. Was a fantastic event and I know I'll be back!

  • Comments: Very, very well run event with tons of support on the water. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a memorable open water challenge.

  • Comments: Really an awesome event. While a bit disappointed with my performance, I am totally glad I did it. I was shocked to see a couple people take it less-than-seriously. Don't underestimate this race. One of the guys this year suffered a heart attack during the swim and died. He was only 43 years old, very sad.

  • Comments: I'm disappointed, but can't be angry. The RD made the right call. I just wish either the storm had held off for about 43 minutes, or I was faster.

  • Comments: Lightinig storm came and ended race. I was coming to mile 4 mark and slipping toward cut off time for sure. Think I'd have finished with a bit over half mile to go and adrenaline starting to help a bunch...oh well. Should have been done by then so it's my fault. Would like to see if anyone knows the time they cancelled cuz i didnt even look at my watch. Happy with my effort getting to 4 but its not like "hands hit the sand" finish....

  • Comments: Great race. I accomplished a life long goal and am amazed at those who have done this 10, 15 times. I think we had ideal conditions (rain held off) and the current (on the east side at least) was moderate.

  • Comments: Was told this year was an easy year in comparison to other years. I might be afraid of making the cut offs in a more difficult year, but this race/distance is totally possible and not undoable.

  • Comments: This is an epic event, well organized and well supported by volunteers, coast guard, NOAA, etc. There's nothing like it anywhere else in the country.

  • Comments: As always this one-of-a-kind event was well run and is a great experience. Hopefully I'll be back next year, thought the registration process is moving to a lottery style and nobody is guarenteed a returning slot without making a hefty donation by June 30th.
