Race Reports for Ashenfelter 8K Classic

Comments: This is a great holiday race. The community really comes out and supports it, and you can feel the good vibes all the way through the course. My only complaint is that the post-race food is available pre-race, so there is nothing left by the end. I was able to snag one of the last available waters after I finished, but that was all that was available. Elaborate post-race celebrations aren't necessary on a holiday, but it would be nice if something were left for the later finishers.

Comments: Picking up registration the day before was difficult. They couldn't find the stack that contained our numbers. Ran out of hot chocolate after the race.

Comments: I gotta rate it on the lower scale, just because I got dicked at the sign up. I have NEVER been to a race where they have ran out of timing chips and numbers. Now the race has no reality to it. Every age group place is a sham, cause who knows if you were REALLY in THAT place or not? All I can do is judge it on it's own merits by my own time. My splits were great, I felt good, and could have probably pushed a tad more, if I thought it might do something for me. I wanted to break 34 minutes, and I blew that away...so yea for me. Hopefully they learned a lesson here and will do better in following years.
