  • Comments: After several good years, this race appears to be slipping a little bit. Fewer competitors this year. Last year's rain-out didn't help, I'm sure, and the race director or organizer never even sent out an e-mail acknowledging that fact. Disappointed that podium finishers didn't even get a medal. Volunteers are still top-notch. I'll be back, but mostly because it's practically in my backyard. Plus my finish qualified me for nationals, and hopefully I can do that again next year since I have to skip it this year.

  • Comments: I enjoyed the race. Can't help the rain and if the race would have started an hour later, it probably would have been cancelled. They should consider starting it an hour earlier though. Good swag (Sunglasses and a water bottle). If it works into the schedule, I will probably do this one again. I enjoyed it and I know I can do better.

  • Comments: This was my first tri, and I had a great time. I'm looking forward to doing more in the future. If you're in the Des Moines area and want to start out with a sprint-length triathlon, I can't imagine there being too many better than this.

  • Comments: At packet pick up they told me that they had no medium jackets left even though I had put one on my order form. I'm not sure if they didn't order enough of them or if they gave them out to the late registrants but I think that was bad that they didn't save the right sizes for those who ordered them.

  • Comments: Finished my first triathlon and had an incredible time doing it. I'm hooked. I can't compare this race to another one, but I truly loved it.
