  • Comments: I gave it a 4 rather than a 5 simply because it was my first and I can't say it is a top rating due to my lack of experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the race and if my schedule permits I will be back next year. The food at the end was awesome and the support on the course for such a small town was great during the run. Also the even was very well organized. My only critique would be the run along the mesh on the beach at the start of the run course. If you are careful its not a problem but I did see one person get hung up on it and fall. It bunched up very easily.

  • Comments: This was a great race. It was well organized and the food at the end was excellent with fresh cooked waffles & fruit, home cooked granola bars, apples, bananas, water ice, and much more! The water was clean and nice to swim in. The bicycle course only had two 4 way crossings near the Garden State Parkway (which you went under). The other crossings were very minor. The road almost seemed to be closed to traffic. Run course was a loop around the lake on roads. Had shade from trees for much of the course.

  • Comments: Love this race, especially with the Bambino Biathlon for the kids. Jack is too old now, but both Emma and Sarah did it (and each broght a friend to do it with them). Emma managed 2nd female (and her friend Katie 3rd). Sarah's friend Julia took 3rd in their AG. Sarah had a good/fun race (her first multi-sport), but got stuck in T1 trying to get her helmet buckled and lost contact with Julia.

  • Comments: This is one of my favorite races. Nice size, low key, good course, some fast competition, well organized, nice kids race and great post-race food & awards. This was my 4th time racing here (first time in '05) and I am sure I'll be back for more.

  • Comments: Can't imagine a better run/organized race. The volunteers were great, I was AMAZED at the food...huge buffet....something for everyone. Chicken Marsella, Ziti, pizza, fresh fruits, pastries, cake, soft pretzels, slushies, snack foods, lots of water and other drinks. Really great post race event..A++

  • Comments: I love this race--the 3rd time I've done it. Small and cheap, with good competition and post-race food. The course is fast and fun. The Bambino Biathlon is great (Jack finished 2nd AG) and there are lots of awards handed out. Hope to be back again.

  • Comments: Fourth year I did this race. Smallish field but aways quality field. over half the field averaged over 20 mph (me being the last one officially). Good post race food, and overall feel. But the Bambino Biathlon was the best. They revamped the schedule to do the Bambino Bi after the race (vice during the bike segment). Adrian and Matthew both competed. matthew just learned to ride a bike this spring so it was very cool. Neither tore up the core but it was a cool moment to see them compete and to ride along with Matthew (hammed it up the whole time, slow then fast, then repeat the whole way. Ran his fastest after crossing the finish line thru the chute to get his ribbon)

  • Comments: This is one of the nicest races that I do. Small field, but solid competition level. I like the distance and the course itself. The kids' race is a great add-on and the post-race food is better than most. May just go and watch the kids next year since it will be a week after LP, but in 2 years I hope I'm challenging for an AG award here--just have to keep working on getting stronger on the bike & run.

  • Comments: This is the 3rd year I have done this race. It is a small race, no fancy chip timing, or huge goody bag, but I have been very impressed each year. Well organized, lots of volunteers, very friendly, and a really nice course. The other thing that has stuck me is the quality field that the race has attracted each year. Good time, met a bunch of BTers, and good race. I'll be back again next year.

  • Comments: This is a really nice small race. 10th annual race. The Bamino Biathlon for the kids (during bike portion of the tri) was a big hit (sold out for 3rd straight year).

  • Comments: A very nice, well-organized and low-key race. The race for the kids is a really nice add-on for families. Good food and a nice long sleeve-T more than make up for no finishers medal. If we can swing a room at our friends' beach house again next year, we'll probably be back. Though I'm tempted to just spectate and watch Jack (and maybe Emma next year).
