  • Lots of volunteers to help?Yes
  • Plenty of drink stations?Yes

  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: Even though it wasn't a stellar performance, I was happy with it. It was my own personal challenge. I had two goals; to finish and not suck. I think I did OK. Should do better if I loose some more weight. Initially given the wrong race packet, went back and they swapped it no problem.

  • Comments: High Five puts on great races. Weather delay can't be helped. Everyone was great, especially the volunteers out in the weather.

  • Comments: The event not starting on time is not the fault of the event...it was mother nature and the thunder/rain. This is a great early season race and High Five Events know how to put an event on, they are always run well. I was also impressed with how the transition area was not muddy or the run course...good job guys! I'll be back next year to do even better.

  • Comments: High Five always does a good job. The race started 30 minutes late, but that was because of lightning in the area, not lack of organization. They kept everyone safe, but got the full race off.

  • Comments: The waves of the swim start are both divided into age groups as well as rookie versus veteran, which makes it much easier to compare your performance to others. There were 408 rookies in the race, and about 400 veterans, including some pros, which made for a nice mix. Tons of volunteers were present to help if needed. There was a 30 minute delay in starting the race because of thunder and lightning, but the weather cleared nicely, and the race temperature was upper 60's to low 70s--absolutely perfect. The courses were very well-marked. The bike course had a nice variety of flats and hills, although the road was a little bit wet from the rain earlier. The run course was improved from the rains--the wood chips where nice and soft, and the temperature was considerably cooler than it would have been without the rainstorm. I'm thrilled with my performance in this, my first, triathlon. 1:10 was my ultimate goal for the race, and I got 1:10:08. I didn't panic on the swim, and finished
