  • Comments: I got everything I wanted and more from this race. I wanted to BQ and boost my marathon confidence by running an even split race. I ended up setting a PR and negative splitting. Now I know I can run marathons! It's time to train for one! Boston - watch out!

  • Comments: beautiful course; great volunteers; minimal crowd support but that's not always a bad thing. Start lacked a little bit of organization at the start but wasn't really an issue because of the size of the race (just over 2,000 marathon runners)

  • Comments: Great race, I thought the end-race activities were decent, not as great as some of the other races I went to, but then again, I did miss out on the free acupuncture and didn't splurge on the massage.

  • Comments: So I decided, once again, to re-enter my abusive relationship with the Seattle Marathon. I’ve run the marathon once and the half marathon twice, as well as ran support last year (16 miles) for people I had coached. Every year I finished battered, bruised, and beaten. Every year I say never again. And yet I keep going back. “It’ll be different this time” I try to tell myself. “It’ll be better. The marathon didn’t mean to abuse me last time. It’s sorry. I’m sure of it.” Friday we went into Seattle for the yearly viewing of the parade and lighting of the Westlake Tree. Our “Black Friday” tradition is that Roy gets up and goes shopping because he is not bothered by the disgusting actions of a few of the people on that morning. In an effort to not befoul the beautiful season of Christmas, I stay in bed. He text messages me to let me know where he’s at and brag on some scores. I then run or walk (if I’m doing the marathon, I walk) to the local Starbucks where we meet, drink coffee, share

  • Comments: The start was a cluster. Not very organized at all. People had to hope the fences once it started in order to start running.

  • Comments: Not sure what happened to the post race event. Pretty substandard. Other wise the race was good, weather good. Having done the race 3 times now plus a Half Mary back in 03. Know the course pretty well and how to prepare for the different sections. I would recommend it and will probably put it on the calendar for next year unless something else better comes up. Even the Athletes Lounge that is doing the results is slow putting up the data.. Final thought, looked back at the 2003 HalfMarathon that I ran (when I was starting out) I ran that in 2:06. So I'm very happy with my split on Sunday and overall time.

  • Comments: It's a very good race for a late season. Weather can be dicey, but that makes it more challenging. I will probably pass on it next year or just do a Half. Since Bellingham is organizing a marathon on Oct 7. Now I have take a break from the action, heal up, recharge the batteries, get ready for a mountain trail 50K Ultra on March 17th.

  • Comments: This was my 1st some what serious attempt at a stand alone marathon. For the week before hand we had a standing joke on this was my "how not to train for a marathon marathon" since it was a last minute deal. I've IMC a couple of times and the Honolullu Marathon once (this was not a good race at all, I ran with a slower group for the first 10 miles, and was just stuck in sheer volume of runners for the rest of the race). Overall I'm happy with my results, I figured I could have gone 10 mins faster with a bit more prep

  • Comments: I was disappointed that I didn't do about 10minutes better. Actually without the two peestops, it would be about 4:26. Had some thoughts that this would be my last marathon, and I would stick to Halfs (even had some negative thoughts about IMCDA). But now I'm thinking of nexts years race and how can I overcome the animal. A good marathon, very scenic, good support.
