  • Comments: SuperSprint seemed very disorganised this time. Start times ran late by 15min. The bag compound line was enormous (because they are implementing a new system). There was no banana in the show bag which I thought was really poor - given that we'd done an OD. The Athena presentation only included first place because 2nd and 3rd hadn't crossed the finish line by the time they printed the results (very poor). So, while I was happy about the fact that I took 3mins off my overall time, rode my quickest 40k and sliced my run time, I came away from the event rather disappointed. And don't worry, I've let SuperSprint know all of this via email feedback.

  • Comments: A great race and location, with great vollies, and an enthusiastic crowd!! Apart from the long run to T1. The wind wasn't pleasant, just hoping that the same howling northerly doesn't strike in 7 weeks time....... 4 minutes better than last year, 15 AG places and 180 overall places higher. So must be doing something right!!! Next stop, IM Melbourne!

  • Comments: my first Olympic - I'm so happy I've done it. I've conquered the swim which was a big mental challenge, thanks to my coach John Van Wisse. Now I'm going to work on the bike. woohoo!

  • Comments: As this is my first Olympic Distance race, I will try to use it as a learning experience and not be so hard on myself. I'm happy with 3rd but I know I can do better - starting next week with Geelong.

  • Comments: My main goal heading into this race was under 3 hours, with a stretch goal of 2:50, so given the long swim and extra long T1 I'm happy. The swim could have gone better, but the bike was good, and the run was what I expected. I can now push on with HIM training for Busso, but will probably try and do one more of the sprint races in the next month or 2 to keep motivated. Compared to last year, I'm in the shape of my life, ready to target the HIM! Onwards!!!!!

  • Comments: Actually finishing might have helped. But seriously, lesson learned. Carry a spare tube, and co2 cartridges, even though I was told not to bother for a race this size. I will from now on. This was my goal race for the season, so it was extremely disappointing. I think I threw my bike, my shoes, and cried for about 20 minutes. And even told someone to "go fuck themselves". Which they totally deserved btw. There is another OD in Geelong on the 20th of Feb. If I am going to do Shepp this year, I need to finish an OD first. So I have a month and 9 days to get ready now. Hopefully I can smash that one!
