  • Comments: Amazing amount of effort by the local community in supporting this event. Locals stood all day in the heat chearing on even folks like me who finished well behind most of the participants. That really helped. Corporate sponsorship was great (Ford).

  • Comments: IMNA puts on a great event. I really enjoyed meeting some very cool BT'ers. Althouhg I did not have the race I wanted I would have not problem doing this race again. In fact, I'm already signed up for 2007.

  • Comments: Absolutely fantastic. The crowds were unbelievable and the volunteers so great. Coeur d’Alene can be very proud that they put on such a great event. Would love to come back one day. I am so proud of myself and of Phil and Kate. It was a tough day for everyone out there and we truly showed what we were made of. The journey was long and at times very difficult, but it was all worth it. We are so lucky to have so many people that came to share this event with us. I would like to also congratulate everyone, especially the BT’ers who made something special happen out there on race day

  • Comments: I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff, so check back often for updates :-) The people and volunteers of Coeur d'Alene were incredible. I honestly can't say enough about them- they made the race for me. Every time I would thank someone for doing something for me, they would say something like "No, thank you for doing this/coming here/inspiring/etc us". It was truly a pleasure to do my first IM surrounded by such wonderful people. That being said, the heat was a huge factor for me. I had a mental goal of somewhere between 12:30 and 13:00. I could not have prepared any better and I honestly think if the temp was down and I didn't spend 45 minutes in the restroom/getting wetsuit stripped I would have made it. I couldn't be happier with my performance. I made the best of the hand I was dealt and finished strong. They don't call it the "IronMan" for nothing, and if it wasn't this tough it wouldn't be worth what it is.

  • Comments: This was a perfectly organized and managed race. The officials, volunteers, and all other people involved with gettting if off smoothly were awesome. I highly recommend this race to anyone! Today I can actually walk normally and go down stairs with out using the railing. Thanks for taking the time to read my race report. I hope that it offers some help, guidance, or encouragement to someone.

  • Comments: This was a totally different race for me. The M-dot races are very slick and very well produced. That said, I definitely think they are pushing the envelope on how many people they have in an event. FWIW - I think they ought to cut back the number of people at each event (2500 spots -> 200 spots) and add another event.

  • Comments: Seventeen months ago, I was a 310 pound slob...today, I am an Ironman. I have a beautiful supportive wife, two incredible daughters, and through BT I have met some of the best friends anyone could ever ask for. Many of them raced with me today, and all of them have a special place in my heart. Thanks to all of you for being my friends, my supporters, and my fellow triathletes! I don't want to accidentally leave anyone out, so I'm not going to list everyone, but I have to mention a few who have been so special to me. Aaron (JeepFleeb) and Haley (Comet), even hundreds of miles away, you have shown your love, support and friendship so many times and in so many ways, I had to stop counting..."thanks" doesn't begin to explain my gratitude, but you both know how I feel. (Aaron, I haven't forgotten your gesture at Stonebridge, and I am still in awe of you). Celeste (CitySky), you have kept me grounded and your friendly advice and constant spritual uplifting are awesome. You are

  • Comments: Coeur d'Alene, You are AMAZING! The people, both volunteers and spectators are 100% behind this race. I can't believe the support they give to the 2200 athletes and their firends and families who take over their town every year. You can feel the love from everyone from the moment you step into town till you leave. The course is beautiful. The weather superb (heat excepted), and the water clean and cool. You won't find a better all around great place to do your 1st IronMan.

  • Comments: The volunteers were great. The people of CDA were great. They kept saying "Thank you for coming here". What? No, thank you for having us! If this were San Diego, people would have a heart attack if the streets were closed for a few hours, not to mention all day and part of the week. Absolutely incredible. All of the Northwest BTers were Great. Tobin opened his house to us and our families and Brian showed us the course and organized things for us to do. I met so many Bters, who are all awesome. Stake and Chippy are terrific and I'll do what it takes to race with them again. Wendy and Mike are awesome. I can't believe they would travel this far to volunteer at a race. Trixie is crazy. The scariest part is that DadYou'reEmabarrassingMeCow really likes her. She picked Trixie to be on her soccer team because "She cheats". And she is still talking about her. Stan (FLYBOY) is the nicest guy, Jamesreeves is so down to earth and funny, Danny (DanCan), is way better than he gives himself credit

  • Comments: First one. Lots of thoughts of being the last one....But now two days later? Hmmmm, need to start thinking about how to sign up for IMCanada. Had great accomadation down at the Casino (although its 25 miles away). Recommend it if you are into casino and don't mind the drive. I was worried somewhat about my lack of training coming down the homestretch. But Barring anything drastic like injuries or broken equipment. I wanted this pretty bad. Go slow, run my race/pace, don't worry about the stud 59 year old women smoking you. And Have FUN. Would I do IMCDA again. Absolutely! But first IMCanda, since that gives me more summer training.

  • Comments: This is an excellent race!! Of course I'm biased because of volunteering here the last 3 years and being a local. But if the comments from out of towners are any indication, it's always a huge success and people love it here. I hope CDA can keep the race for a long time to come. Immediately after the race I wasn't thinking too positively about ever doing another IM. But now, after a couple days to recover, (and I able to walk without too much trouble too!!) I'm probably going to do it again next year. I'll know what to expect, both mentally and physically; I'll know better what more I can do in training; and last but not least, it just CAN'T be as hot next year...can it???

  • Comments: All in all an awesome experience. Accomplished two goals...1)finish before dark and 2)finish without being wasted and needing medical tent. Got to celebrate with a ton of family and friends. Huge benefit of doing race in hometown is seeing lots of folks you know and them cheering you on. I made it!
