  • Comments: Rev3 once again put on a flawless event. The volunteers were plentiful and very inspiring. Quassy is a small quaint amusement park, but my family spent all of Saturday going on the rides and hanging out at the beach lakeside and we had a really good time. The course is also very beautiful. The entire area of Connecticut is very lush and picturesque. But make no mistake, this is as tough a 70.3 course as they come so be prepared for nothing but hills.

  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: The race is top notch. The location is great. The amusement park is great to keep the family busy while we do our thing. The lake is clean and calm. The bike course is challenging and the roads for the most part are good. Some cracks in the pavement that make you stay focused. The run is fun and challenging. The only negatives for me (and they are not really that much of an issue)-The crowded finish line and the location of the stage for the pro interviews, race briefing and medal ceremony doesn't make much sense. Great race, will probably do it again.

  • Comments: This is a really well run race. Everything is so well put together. The course is extremely well marked. There are plenty of aid stations and they are well stocked (gu and water on the bike, soda, pretzels, gu, water, gatorade on the run). I always felt safe on the course and well taken care of. Yes its a pricey race... but well worth it.

  • Comments: This was a first class event. Happy to be a part of it. Volunteers were great - I had a guy at a bike water stop chase me to get me a Gatorade!! Traffic was controlled. Lots of water during the run. I will do this again next year and try to improve, but I am so happy to have broken 6hrs - even by 2/10ths of a second!! Very happy with the race this year.

  • Comments: I challenge anyone to find a 70.3 race that is harder on the East Coast than this race. Incredible Pro field, excellent location. but at over 12,000 ft of elevation change...there is no hiding on this course.

  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: Toward the end of the run course the volunteer stations wheren't even manned... like the volunteers had already packed up and gone home. The massage guy was packing up his stuff and carrying it to the car when I got done... and I really could have used a message on my calves. The whole place was breaking down for the day and I had to specifically ask for a finisher shirt of which they only had large and extra large left. Oh well. It really sucks to be just about last but they could at least extend the same courtesy to all the participants and break down the race after Everyone finishes. I cried all the way home. what a miserable day.

  • Comments: I absolutely loved this race. This was my first half and I could not be more pleased with the race - course, organization, support, location and spectator friendly made it easily my favorite race I have done. Was aiming for 5:45 time, and was ecstatic with 5:15 performance. Really enjoyed racing on same course on same day with some of the best pros in the sport. Will be there again next year.

  • Comments: Rev 3 puts on a great overall show. getting up close and personal with the pros, the blazman's parents, my Trakkers teamates, World Champions, and Olympians was very cool. The race is a challenge but was well done. Great experience and had a great time.

  • Comments: Revolution 3 for me and my family was more than a race, it was an experience. The amusement park, meeting all the Pro's, and a dozen other tangibles made this event exceed my expectations. The course was exceptionally well-marked, the volunteers were superb, I got two awesome shirts, a nice visor, the pre and post activities again with the Pro's and Amusement park just put this event head and shoulders above any other triathlon I've done. I mean, how can you top meeting Craig Alexander, having him sign three visors for you and your two kids!! What a Gentleman!! As far as the course, this is a tough, challenging course. Pro Michael Lovato said it's the toughest HIM course he'd ever done - and many of the Pro's agreed. I treated this course with a lot of respect early on, and in the end it made for a fantastic day. I will definitely be doing more Rev 3 events in the future.

  • Comments: This is a great race - really well run and a joy to participate in. The course is gorgeous and the amenities top notch. They put your name on your transition spot! The only thing I really wish they'd change about this race is the post-race food. After 7 hours of consuming gels and electrolyte drinks while exercising, the last thing I want is mac and cheese and a burger - or really any hot, prepared food. I was longing for some bread or bagels and peanut butter to settle my stomach.

  • Comments: Great learning experience for my first TRI! I learned alot that will help me reach my Ironman Lake Placid goal. The best takeaway I have is once I flatted I was riding/running with a different group than I had been. I had started out riding with alot of focused athletes with their game faces on. The more relaxed and fun group that I ended up spending many hours with was great! Sooooo glad that I got this in before Lake Placid. I don't quite feel like I'm ready for anything...but at least I can handle some more challenges!

  • Comments: Very well organized and great volunteers, but just too darn hard for me. I think the CeraSport drink was a bad choice - tasted horrible. Post race food was good - wish I felt better so I could have eaten more. Transition area was very congested - could have given more space in between rows. Overall, I was pleased with the event, but the hills were disheartening for someone of my level.

  • Comments: Race was pretty well organized and the aid stations were pretty much first rate and volunteers were very helpful and supportive. All athletes and people lining the course were very positive and made a newbie feel pretty good, even though I wasn't happy with the time, I was estatic that I finished and was happy to have the FIRST TRI in the books

  • Comments: This race was extremely well organized. For a first year event, and a new racing company, they did a fantastic job. There was nothing I needed while I was out on the course that wasn't taken care of. Except for the hills to be over. LOL!

  • Comments: The course was brutal, but it was advertised as so prior to the race, so I can't really complain. The race was very well run, and was worth the higher-than-usual entry fee. Obviously my times (other than the swim) are very disappointing, but I'm just glad it happened here and not in my Ironman. Now I have a three week period to take it easy, recover, and come up with a nutrition plan.

  • Comments: Great first run - loved the huge TV screen with live coverage and live commentary. Kept things interesting while I was waiting around. Cool awards - pottery. I have to give a shout out to two teammates: Suzie who rocked her first ever 1/2 with a 2nd overall in the amateur division (4:58!!!). And Yokes for winning his AG with a sub 5 hr time.

  • Comments: Great race especially for a first year event. More top pros in any race this side of Kona, so it was very cool to meet and see how they handled this cousre. The two winners called it the toughest HIM they ever remember doing. Great voluneers and Team Trakkers represented well even if the decives still had a few glitches 9 poor cell reception in the area realy was a challenge)

  • Comments: This was an awesome race. I loved racing with the pros. I saw a lot of the pro women finishing up as I was beginning the run. The race was very well-organized, especially for being a first race for Rev3. I raced as a member of Team Trakkers, so I got to help out on Saturday, too, and that was interesting to see some of the behind the scenes stuff. The location was great for the kids, although my husband was probably more tired than me at the end of the weekend. A HIM is not the best race to bring a 2 and a 6 year old! Rev3 is going to start a series next year with some different lengths, and I think it is going to be something to watch. I do think the course was incredibly difficult. Not having done a HIM all by myself it's hard to say how I would have fared, but I think the bike would have kicked my butt even more than the run. If anything, it just makes me want to work harder than ever to improve.
